Guest actionjack
Does anyone know of a place that can straighten or remanufacture a dirveshaft for a 1926 Dodge touring sedan? (4 cylinder with driveshaft enclosed by torque tube)
Guest oldodgeboys
I've had good luck here. Not sure if they can do this old though.Gushttp://www.powertrainindustries.com/contact.htm
jan arnett (2)
Why do you think it is bent. They are pretty well protected unless you took them out and bent them.Jan
Guest actionjack
I have no idea how it got bent. I bought it this way and it is definitely bent just enough to make the car want to beat itself to death when you let off the throttle and coast. It vibrates and shutters and when you roll the driveshaft on a flat surface, you can see the slight bend. It's not bent much, but it's not driveable like this. nearchoclatetown
A good machins shop could straighten it. BUT I think I'd just find another, there are plenty of parts cars out there.
Guest actionjack
If anyone has any suggections where to find another driveshaft, I am all ears. I have been to six different machine shops in Southern California and none of them would straighten it. They wouldn't even try and its not bent but about 1/2 " at one end.
