Hi,

There were "TC Pages" with all specs, and build info of the kind you are looking for; but sadly they are shut down, and I don't know of any active now. Someone else here may know of some. Lou

Glad to have you here Yellow cars, thing is though, this community is about sharing experiences/information. If that discussion goes to private email, it kinda devalues/defeats our goals. Don't take it wrong but I am gonna ask Tim NOT TO email you with the info. He can post updates here for our community (which I hope you will be active in cool.gif) You want it? Check in here to find it smirk.gif He is of course, a grown man and can do as he pleases, I'm just saying...

Alan:

Sorry that you misunderstood my request to be notified of the updating of the pentrident.com website. I just wanted to be notified as to when it was done. There was no intention to circumvent the club. In fact it seems that my request has initated several responses and disseminated information to other members. Happy Holidays.

Yeah, I have to admit, it worked out nicely and good usable information came from it. Nice job cool.gif

Alan

I get dsicouraged when the list is down to a couple posts per day frown.gif I know there are more members here with ideas and experiences to share but 75% of the list members have less than a one hundred or so post count. Go ahead, take the plunge instead of just reading along!!

Hi, If you have the time, you might try typing the stats into a new database for this group. If you don't have the time just email the stats to me at peavey7@hotmail.com and I will probably find the time to do it. Got lots of time while I'm looking for work, doesn't look like my last job will be able to afford having me on the payroll for quite a while.

If I remember correctly, that list doesn't include the red v6 cars with black interior so it isn't 100% accurate.

The build info is on another post, http://forums.aaca.org/ubbthreads.php/topics/563469/TC_color_and_engine_production#Post563469

I've never attempted to post a link to another post on this board so I hope it works.

Lou, I just shipped off my 89 service manual so I'm not able to post much helpful info anymore. Don't know if I'll ever be able to find someone local to pick up the other parts I still have, keep getting the same old no show, no communication thing from my craigslist ads. Maybe the locals have decided to get rid of the cars instead of fixing them, I know I used to see 5 or 6 driving around town and haven't seen even 1 in quite a while. I still have a lot of knowledge of the cars that I gleaned from a mechanic friend who worked on them when new but others on the board have more first hand knowledge so I let them do the helping.

Or maybe you should just review your old for sale adds here, reread them thru, then decide if YOU would buy parts from YOU smirk.gif Without going back and directly qouting each of your and my posts, my in-a-nutshell synopsis of one of them is this:

You: someone come get this convertable black top I have, I'll just sell the whole thing for the price of the glass.

Me: Ok, is it in good shape, I'll give you MORE than you asking price for the glass and take the whole top.

You: Meh, it's not really worth the effort to drag it out, it's underneath a bunch of stuff, maybe next summer...

Do I have it wrong? Am I thinking of a different local seller? Correct me if I have it wrong...

TwinCam,

You are not one of the people I was writing about, you never said that you were driving over to pick up the parts. I'm writing about a few people within 20 miles of me that just do a no show, my neighborhood isn't scary at all, so that can't be the problem. They just come up with something better to do, or decide not to come out and don't bother letting me know. People farther away I ask to call me when they are on their way so I can start getting parts out before they get here.

It would take me about 3 hours to get the soft top out and look at it again, that is why the price I want is basically what the glass is worth, which I can see and know is still unbroken. Also one of the reasons I want to sell locally is so that a buyer can come look at the parts and judge condition for themselves, condition is subjective and I tend to be a nit picker on my descriptions. However, I may miss something, be less nitpicky than a buyer, leading to disappointments or more nitpicky and lead to someone who would be happy with the parts not bothering to check on them.

My impression of what you wanted was a top in better condition than the "good" one you have. I have no idea how my top compares to that one so an eyeball inspection is in order, no substitute will do. I also got the impression that if my top wasn't nearly perfect then you wouldn't bother with it. Why would that make me want to spend a few hours getting it out and looking at it. Every time I move it, something can happen to it.

Maybe we are having a major flaw in communication by going by our impression of what the other is saying. If you want to do an eyeball inspection of the top, the headlights, the cornering light, the stainless, the trunk reflector and the other parts I have, let me know. When I had my black 91 I would have jumped on these parts for $600. I haven't moved all the garaged items back in place so it would only take an hour to get my parts out to look at right now, but if other family members need to get to their stuff then I'll have to put boxes 2 and 3 deep in front of the top again.

I know I don't have the right 'talk' to be a salesman, that is why I don't do that type of work. I am a very 'straight to the point' kind of guy and that can put a lot of people off, especially if they judge people by how well they 'small talk'. If you are interested in the parts and want to come look at them, let me know. But don't clog up this post with more unrelated matters to the post starter's intent, we've hijacked it enough.
