slowe
Could anyone tell me if the 48 Continental hub cap scripts came with red paint on the sides. Steve

imported_Phil Knapp
Front - yes. Rear - No. Apparently, as a cost saving measure, 1948 Continentals (and probably Zephyrs as well) had no script on the rear hubcaps. Seems appropriate because the rear hubcaps are hidden by the fender skirts so why go the expense of putting script on them? This, of course, makes the plain 1948 Lincoln rear hubcaps pretty rare these days. Guest imported_V12Bill
Phil,What you say ios true, but does not answer the question "did the script have red paint on the edges". I say yes. What say you?
b6vt
Did the front hubcaps have the words "Lincoln Continental" or just" Lincoln" in cursive script? on the '48 Continental. Glenn Lorei (b6vt)
Guest imported_V12Bill
Front Hub cap just had Lincoln with edges painted red. Rear sides of hood had Lincoln Continental with no paint on edges and spare tire hubcap had the same Lincoln Continental script with edges painted red and bent in curve to match curve of hub cap.
