Airstreamer
I have a front axle from a Dodge car that was owned by my father's family. The story, as I remember it, is that when they were finished with the car they gave it to a local mechanic in return for him making them a trailer with this axle. We used this trailer for small jobs like fencing or moving feed on the farm that I grew up on.Can anyone identify it? Are these parts any good to anyone? Thanks,Grant DavidsonMilton, ON
1937hd45
Thank you for posting the photos, that is a very nicely made trailer. The springs are too long to be from that front axle, but designed to work better with a heavy load. The tie rod is nicely fixed to the axle with a U bolt, not some bad welding. The spindles and steering arms look to be Chevrolet to me, if so the axle may be Chevy as well. Doug is the DB keeper of knowledge, and should be able to ID the year and model the wheels. The frame rails are made from a car chassis from the 1930 era. If you deside to part it out I'd be interested in the spindles and steering arms.
