Guest actor
I read in a forum post that somewhere there exists judging records from previous AACA meets. My "new" 1923 Dodge Brothers depot hack has six AACA metal emblems nailed to the roof. I am wanting to do as much research as possible on this specific car, and would like some advice or direction on locating old records to assist in my search. The truck was alledgedly originally owned by the DuPont family, according to the executor of the estate where I bought it, and I'm just trying to flesh out its history. Any guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated. The emblems are:AACA National Fall Meet, Eastern Division, Hershey, PA Oct. 9, 10, 11, 1964Ocean City, NJ Annual Shore Run, Pottsdam Region, AACA, June 1963Pottsdam Region, AACA, Shore Run, Ocean City, NJ, June 1964AACA Annual Spring Meet, Eastern Division, June 1962, Altoona, PA, "World Famous Horse Shoe Curve"Adventure Village, Near Atlantic City, Annual Run, 1962Third Annual Spring Meet, Sunday, May 26, 1963, Historic Car Club of Pennsylvania
Guest commander1924
Hi, What you are looking at are six dash plaques that were handed out to the owners of the vechicle when it was registered for the meets or runs that you listed. I am from the area and familiar with most of the meets/runs that you mentioned. You can email me at commander1924@msn.com
nearchoclatetown
Have you tried contacting AACA NAt'l office? The girls keep records of all awards and who they were awarded to. Rereading your post, are these awards or dash plaques? If awards they should say "junior" or "senior".
Guest actor
I did send the same information and request a couple of weeks ago via email, but haven't gotten a response. I will try again this week. Is there anyone (or any dept) specifically I should send it to?
Guest actor
Oh, also, they don't seem to have any "Junior" or "Senior" classification on them, so I assume they are for participation...
jan arnett (2)
Actor:It is interesting that you refer to your truck as a hack. What exactly is the body type? Screenside pickup, enclosed body pickup, home made, custom bodied like Martin Perry or Cantrel. Do you have pictures?Have a nice day.Jan
