Guest stude8 Posted September 25, 2008 Share Posted September 25, 2008 I have a 1928 Studebaker with Kelsey 20" x 4" split rims. I am replacing tires and find I need Studebaker tool 125220 or after market equivalent. Looks like an oversize mouse trap, it engages holes in the rim where the two ends meet, by the leverage it produces the one end of the rim is pulled away from the tire bead and then moves CCW under the other rim end so as to reduce the outside diameter of the rim and permit pulling it out of the tire bead inside diameter.See attached photo. Layden B Posted October 2, 2008 Share Posted October 2, 2008 Note that the unit pictured has a piece across the hinge point that limits the width of rim this tool will work on.
