1929Chrysler
Does any one have suggestions on where to send a water pump for rebuilding or do you think I should have a local machine shop turn a new spindle as the old one is scored where the packing goes? It looks like the impeller is just pressed onto the shaft. I was thinking about possibly having the shaft made slightly over size and then hone the front and rear brass bushings accordingly.Any input is much appreciated.Dan

Mark Shaw
Find a copy of last month's Buick Bugle magazine. There is a good article on older water pumps in it.
Guest garydc
Dan: I took the pump from my series 75 to a local machine shop. He made me a new shaft and after a Little machining he was able to put 2 modern seals in the old packing area. He made a new rear bushing. I then put a sealed roller bearing in the front. My front was originally a roller bearing. So far I am very happy, no leak
