NorseArcher Posted March 24, 2008 Share Posted March 24, 2008 hi, i just learned that my great aunt got her driver's license in 1933 and drove the family ford. i'm trying to narrow down the model but she only remembers that it had isinglass (she called it "iodized") windows that snapped in when it rained. could someone please tell me which years and which models Ford used isinglass on? i know nothing about cars, modern or antique, so am really clueless. you can e.mail me at this username at yahoo. thanks!judi mware, MA Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
TheMoneyPit Posted March 24, 2008 Share Posted March 24, 2008 It could have been a Model T or A. Either way an open car as isenglass is the plastic like material used in the side curtains. TheMoneyPit Posted March 24, 2008 Share Posted March 24, 2008 A good question to ask your great aunt is if it had a hand shifter or if the speed was controlled by three pedals on the floor. Three pedals was T and a clutch with a hand shift was a model A. If you think it was a T, I can put you in touch with the Central Mass Model T Club and they may be able to help narrow down the year.
