gdcont
Hey everyone does anyone know if the three sections of the antenna on a 48 Continental extends or if only the base and last section which has the ball on it extends? I can get the base and last section to move but I don't know if the middle section is siezed or it doesn't move. Thanks George
peecher
The center section should also retract. It may be seized up or even as was in my case someone may have soldered it in place.
no more
The only action on a lincoln vacuum antenna is main section..as operated by vacume the 2 remaining sections move, but not by power as a modern ant, with a thin plastic cable that winds up on a spool...still pretty cool gizmo..jb
gdcont
So zeffer1940 what your saying is that the base or main section goes up but if you want the other sections to extend then you have to pull them up manually? Is that correct? Thanks George.
peecher
That is correct, you have to pull the middle and top section up manually, only the base section is vacuum powered.
gdcont
Thanks for the info. That explains why when I took mine apart I could only figure out that the main mast was effected by the two sealing disks. And that only that section would move. I guess I've work on to many modern antennas.
