Mad_Bohemian
Does anybody know how the TC wheels were processed? Specifically , once the wheels were cast and had gone through the finish machining process, what ,if any ,type of sealer/finish was applied to them. I have an idea for customizing mine which will require sand blasting, refinishing the face, and then 'sealing' the whole thing. Any ideas out there??ThanksBrian
89TC-16V
I know that they are cast, painted and polished. I have not seen remnants of any sealer that they used on the stock Chrysler wheels that was known to peel.
car_chick
The wheels are made by a company called Fondmetal - they make high end wheels for euro cars. Contact them and ask them.
Guest LouZ
OK Brian, her's what you got. As Car Chick says Fondmetal is the brand name of the wheels, They make a lot of wheels for the Formula Cars. They were cast, the outside surface was polished and then ClearCoated, after 17 or 18 years much of the clearcoat has peeled, leaving a surface that is very susceptable to corrosion. If you put a wheel weight on the outside of the wheel, it WILL corrode.. How did you make out with the Top Pull down problem..Lou
