ixlar8
I just noticed that the dinger/bell that indicates 'key in ignition' is not sounding. I have looked at the manual and found the circuit, but I cannot figure out where the relay or sound producer is located. I remember that the bell came from the general direction of the speedo cluster, but I have searched under the dash to no avail. Help???Larryixlar8@comcast.net
Dales90
Just a thought, had an 84 and a 79, but don't know for sure.Back in the day, the tick-tock the turn signal was a plug-in on the fuse box, so that is the first place I would look.Dale
sosuzguy
Larry, your chime module is plugged into the convience center. It is under the IP, to the left of the steering column. Sometimes it is NOT convenient to get to unless you also take off the lower IP lip. It is a black box that is about the size of a pack of smokes. In the two pictures below I had already taken out the chime module from this car. This is the convience center in relation to the light switch.See the side of it in relation to the parking brake release
ixlar8
Okay, I found the box. Is this something I can pull and replace from a dealer? If it is not working, what are my options???ThanksLarry
sosuzguy
If it isn't working I'd just replace it, that's what I did with mine. Yes they are still available at the dealer.
