Ben,
Just read your PM, sorry for the delay. I too would have difficulty posting a photo? Any of you more computer adept types able to help us "Luddites"?
-
I think the other half must be on the front of the train!
-
Photo?
-
Tom,
Can you tell us about the "Goddess" and the duct tape in photo 6 please?
-
Thanks for the photo - looks a good 'un.
-
James, Another beauty.
-
If tbirdman needs original bolts for concourse purposes, could you guys get together to help make up a set for him?
-
James, really like the Packard, even better than the Locomobile.
-
Very nice car James, I'm enjoying the view.

Re the car where your grandfather is sitting on the running board. It's not the '35 Ford identified by many but to me looks like a 33/34 Ford. I'm sure the many Ford experts will be closer able to identify it. And the Buick is another car altogether than the one in the weeds which I think is a 28/29 Ford.
-
I'd guess the other one is a 28/29 Ford Tudor Sedan.

Same sort of thing happened when I brought my '41 Packard 120 Coupe into Australia. The Taxman here took his 10% based on the price I paid for the car in Idaho USA from the value on the Idaho Bill Of Sale!

G'day GP,
Thanks for that = Your REO looks great, must have been a whole lot of work.

G'day GP,
Small world, just saw your post re Frye's Bug Remover but I have another question. What car is that in the picture? Thanks

80% - Just goes to show what 40+ years of sitting behind a desk without getting your hands dirty will do for your mechanical appitude!

Yes, Big is definitely a car guy in the widest sense, although his fame springs from a sub-area of the genre. I visited the museum at Ocala Florida on my US trip in July and it is a standout. Although dragsters and related cars are the main theme, there are more than enough "other" cars to put things in a broader context. I highly recommend a visit for any "car guy".
Anyway, back to the topic, George I wish you all the best with this unique vehicle.

Leif,
That was a fast and accurate recognition, complete with documentation. Well done!
-
Mark,
You might try uShip. I used uShip when I bought my '41 Packard 120 Coupe which was located in Idaho and I needed it transported to LA for overseas shipping to Australia (See my Project Blog on Packardinfo.com for the story). Anyway, uShip is much like eBay except you can call for offers/quotes to pickup and ship whatever it is you need to transport. Mine cost about $1.00/mile.

Thanks Wayne and you other guys. It's good to see an interesting, unusual but authentic Packard.
-
Neil,
Thanks for the G'day. As I go to other events I'll post a link to pictures here for all to enjoy.

Below is a link to the photo's I took yesterday, Sydney time, of some "old cars".
Every year George Eden, the Patron of the Antique and Classic Car Club, whose property is inside a National Park, opens up his workshop and displays his "old" cars. The display is interactive with people able to go for rides in all the running vehicles around and through the bush tracks near his workshop. This year some Antique and Classic Motor Club members participated together with a large turn out from the Austin Motor Club, pictures of whose vehicles feature in my car park shots. After the rides in the morning and then lunch, a sausage sizzle, a charity auction is conducted. The auction is dependent on the people attending donating old items to be sold to the highest bidder with all proceeds going to a local Rotary Club to help fund their charitable works.

Scott,
3/4 rear shot looks great - even appears as if it is moving (though it isn't) because of the distant background! A most pleasant looking vehicle.
-
Mark,
You could invite offers through "uShip.com". This is what I did when I bought a '41 coupe in Idaho and needed it shipped to LA so it could be sea-freighted to Australia.
-
Scott,
Thanks for the update. It's good to know that you wouldn't settle for leaving the car "as is" and put in the time, effort and money to ensure it's mechanical condition is properly maintained.
I second the motion that it looks great!
