  1. The trans code, BS, is exclusive to the GS model and is displayed on the P-O-P.

Tom: Just out of curiosity, would the 454 non-GS '65s equipped with the LX code motor also have the BS code transmission?

  2. I had a reproduction window sticker made for my '64 by Mike Trommeter, who hangs out over on the v8buick forum. He did a great job and I was very pleased. You can check out his web site here...

I told him the name of the town where my car was purchased, and he had a database of the dealers that were in existence then. Not sure where he got the info from, but it made it easy for me. You may want to check with him before you place your order. I always prefer to buy from a guy who is into Buicks as much as I am... Just my two cents. ;)

  3. JohnAAA:

The seller of these wheels also sells reproduction center caps for a number of different Buick rally wheels. If you email him (instead of posting here) to inquire he can confirm if he has what you need. I have purchased several different center caps from Mitch over the years and have been very happy...

  4. Thanks to all for your nice comments about my car. I fell in love with the coral mist color when I saw my first (and only) one at the meet in Eureka Springs in 2005. I told my wife Cheryl if I ever found another one I would buy it. This car has had an extensive restoration done after we purchased it which took over two years to complete. I am very pleased with the results and it appears that other Riv fans agree. What a thrill to be voted/selected "best of show."

Ray has already "insisted" ;) that I do a write up about the car for the Riview which I will do soon.

    Thanks again,

  5. CTX-SLPR:

According to Darwin's "Options Not Included" article in the Riview regarding the 1970 cars, there were 394 cars produced in Regal Black - a mere 0.95% of total 1970 production. The article indicates that black was not an available color option initially, but became available later in the production year...

  6. No, unfortunately you cannot use plates from your vehicle's year of manufacture on a collector car in Wisconsin. Collector plates are very reasonable however as long as you have another daily use vehicle also registered. There is a one-time fee of $150 for collector plates (vehicle must be 20 years old or older) that are essentially good forever. No annual renewal fees...

  7. Welcome, Mike.

You have done the three best things you could possibly do:

    1. You have a 1965 Riviera:D

    2. You joined the ROA

    3. You joined the Riviera Forum

There are extremely knowledgeable and helpful people who participate on this forum. All you need do is post you questions and wait for the answers to appear.

    Ditto Jim's thoughts.

I would also tell you to contact your ROA Regional Coordinator in WA - John Andreassen. He's a great guy and someone that can help you network with other Riv owners in your area. Here's a link to his contact info...
