  1. What do you guys think?

I think the Craigslist ad this seller put together is poor at best. If you are truly interested in this car, I would not be too eager to rush into anything as you are probably the only person interested in this car based on the ad. Wait a while and make a a ridiculous offer. You never know, it just may be accepted. My $0.02 for what it's worth...

  2. Rob,

If you remember in one of Jason's earlier posts, he said the black was not the correct color for the inserts. If you're going with purely stock colors you should find out what the correct color is. I don't know exactly what it is - something like a dark charcoal, but I'll bet that someone watching and listening does.

    Ed

PS - Jason, the wheels look great; didn't want to leave you out of this post

The charcoal gray color Ed referred to is called "Argent."

And yes, the wheels look great Jason... Looking forward to seeing them on your car!

  3. '65's finally had wood grain on the console for both standard and custom interiors, but did not have the woodgrain on the doors.

    Ed

A nice summary Ed, but I think you meant to say there was no woodgrain on the doors of the standard interior '65 - the custom interior did have woodgrain on both the console and the doors... :)

Actually, now that I think about it the standard '65 interior did in fact have a small amount of woodgrain on the doors...

  4. I had a Champagne Mist/Saddle Tan '65 Gran Sport that I color changed to Burgundy Mist. As Tom mentioned above, the Champagne/Saddle combination just does not have enough contrast and does not "pop." Champagne Mist is a gorgeous color, and in my opinion would look good with fawn, black or white. The white idea really intrigues me as both my '64 and '65 have white interiors which I love on these first generation cars... Never seen a Champagne Mist/White car but I be it would be cool!

  5. Lord hear our prayer............

    Good one Nathaniel! :D

No leather interior, no digital dash, no moonroof... :( $12k? No thank you (unless the Loonie was less than half the value of the dollar).

The car's exterior is definitely attractive and the bumper fillers don't appear to be cracked though! :)

  6. Jayson:

You don't indicate what year emblems you're looking to rechrome, but I assume '79 - '85? If so, wouldn't it be cheaper to just find some nice used or NOS? I just bought a set of NOS emblems for my '85 turbo convert from the guy who is selling these...

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

If those don't work for you maybe he could get you some NOS emblems? Worth an inquiry...

  7. I think Jason's analogy is a good one and right on target. Although I do own a '65, my personal preference is for the '64. I obviously like other years too as I have Rivs from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. Since this discussion is all in fun, I will point out that when the ROA was founded it initially was a group formed for first generation owners and enthusiasts. That should tell you something about desirability (or at least 1980's desirability :)) of our cars from a collectors's standpoint.

Well that was fun. Who wants to start the thread for least desirable year? Maybe I'll go first and say 1994...:D
