Helping a friend that just purchased a dissembled 1956 Fury. He would like to find a Shop Manual and Parts book to help with reassembly . He would also be interested in a parts car (55-56 Hardtop). Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

37 Dictator....thanks
-
When I removed the rear brakes shoes from my 1937 Dictator the brake lining on each shoe was equal length. When I got them back from being relined one brake shoe lining was shorter than the other as pictured in the shop manual. What is the correct way to install the brake shoes? Shorter or longer to the front or rear?

OK. Got it. and thanks for the grounding polarity info. I should have asked that in my original post.

I'm helping a friend get his1918 Dodge left by his father running. It has a 12volt battery in it . Is that correct???

A nice 1960 Pontiac grill (2 pieces) slightly pitted but very good as a replacement for a broken or cracked grill. Make a reasonable offer.

OK, got it! Thanks.

Yes, you can bypass it. However, be sure to use a low pressure fuel pump. This is what I use in my Model T's http://www.amazon.com/Airtex-E8011-Electric-Fuel-Pump/dp/B000DT7Y70/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1423602827&sr=8-1&keywords=airtex+fuel+pump+6v
Ok, I've seen those electric fuel pumps before. Can I use it in line with the vacuum tank? i.e to keep the vacuum tank full when running at cruising speed or at low vacuum while accelerating?
-
Can I by-pass the vacuum tank on a 1927 Studebaker by adding a 6 volt electric fuel pump? At cruising speed (45mpg) the engine seems to be starving for gas. Maybe not enough vacuum to fill the tank. As when the vacuum wipers quit while accelerating.

Not meaning to just jump into this thread but I need a front license plate bracket for a 1937 Dictator.

Just sold a 1937 Dictator to a fellow new to the "Studebaker" world. The car needs a front license bracket since 2 plates are required for Minnesota. I offered to try to find a front bracket for him. Does anyone have one for sale?

This has probably been previously addressed on this forum, but being new to Pontiac, I want to convert my 1960 Bonneville 389 to a tri-power setup. Can anyone help with the correct intake manifold casting number and the correct carburetor models for the front , center and rear. Also is the complete linkage avaialable?

This may be a long shot but do you have a non restrictive muffler installed? I have a 1931 President that came with a repaired cracked exhaust manifold. I had to replace the exhaust gasket every season. The car did not over heat but ran hot and blew the exhaust gasket regularly. I was advised that it might be the muffler. I replaced it with a NOS non-restrictive muffler and the problem was solved. Just an idea that you might consider.

Would like to but an amp gauge for my 1955 Speedster. Would also like info on any other trim parts that someone may have for sale.

updated list again:
Only need 1966, 1970, and 1980.

Recently got a 1919 Light Four running that had not been on the road since the 1930's. Oil pressure is "zero". The service manual instructs to check line to gauge for clog. Negative. The manual suggest to "prime" the oil pump. How do you 'prime" the oil pump? Or should I just remove it for inspection?
1948 Jeepster For Sale
in Kaiser, Frazer, Darrin, Henry J, Willys
Posted · Edited by ellagee (see edit history)
Just acquired a 1948 Jeepster from an estate. I don't know much about these cars (I have Studebakers). The car is rust free, 6 cylinder, top in great condition. The upholstery is amateur. Odometer show 16,000 miles. I don't know how accurate that is. I do know that it was used as a "Shriner" parade car at some time. It is complete and would make a great (an easy) restoration project or keep as is for a nice driver. All inquiries are welcome. I am asking $9000.00. The car is located in Michigan.
