  1. Just looked on the Lake Shore Wheel and Tire web sight, and saw they have 1991 Reatta whees for $135.00. Seems pretty reasonable to me if i needed new wheels for a show car. I suppose they could also paint them white also. They're located in Holland Michigan near Grand Rapids. Their web sight is.....www.lakeshorewheeland tire.com Phone #......1-616-396-1024 Is it time to start thinking about next years car shows ? ? ? Reattaron
  2. So Barney.......is it the 91's that had cowl shake, or is it the 90's also.My 90 doesn't have it. Thanks Reattaron
  3. Go back to your break test. Test #5......you stated 1 pump. So you need a new accumulator. Reattaron
  4. I had the same thing on my vert, and it turned out the cable was broke where it attaches to the top. It attaches at one side and goes over to the other side.Apparently it's a problem because someone had welded it on the other side. I think it's purpose it to keep the two sides taught, & keep it's shape. It's right behind the trailing edge of the side windows. Reattaron
  5. Nic.... the top bolts on mine weren't as loose as the bottom ones. The fluid in the tranny isn't filled up to the top of the cover anyway. Sound's like you may have stopped the leaking. Reattaron
  6. MIKE , i sent you a P.m. Reattaron
  7. Nic.......last year i bought a 91 green Reatta that was a Texas car.I noticed there was a severe leak under the engine. It was quite wet with oil. When i got it home and changed the tranny fluid & gasket, oil pan & gasket, the valve cover gaskets,& the intake manifold gaskets. While under the car i also noticed the cover you are talking about was leaking.I tightened up all the bolts, the bottom ones were the loosest.I did manage to get to the top bolts, but it wasn't easy. Now it's dry on the bottom side of the engine. I wouldn't worry about changing the cover gasket, unless there is a significant leak.I was thinking the eng.&tranny would have to be pulled to get to the cover. Hope this helps....have a great day. Reattaron PS...dont ever buy a Texas car.I've had to replace ALL the connectors on the engine, & the wire loom as these parts would just crumble when i touched them.It must get terribibly hot under the hood down there.I've also installed a 180* thermostat, & i don't run the tranny fluid through the radiator.I use a big Ford truck auxiliary cooler. Now when i check the tranny fluid, after driving it for a half hour,it's cool to the touch.Igot this idea from Barney Eaton.
  8. FAMOUS LAST WORDS.......NOT A GROUND ISSUE
  9. Check with the j yards on which columns out of a Riviera will interchange with your Reatta.I believe the Riv's columns are not painted black,so just take some mineral spirits & rub the paint off. You'll find the Riv's are painted black underneath the color.
  10. While you have it off , take and grind out the inside of the manifold where the exhaust exits. There have been threads on doing this, becauce it's so restrictive. Reattaron
  11. He might have to wait till mon. to get the temporary plate. Tell him to bring a certificate of insurance also. Reattaron
  12. Padgett.......what type of air horns do you install on your cars ? Thanks Reattaron
  13. Nic..... I use Permatex Ultra Black where the end seals meet the block & intake.Just a little dab.The FSM suggests doing this...also use Ultra Black on the intake manifold bolts,to also seal them from leaking oil. When i use threadlocker, i use the Red it's high strength.Use it on the oil pan,& tranny pan.I've done this to two Reattas & no leaks yet. Hope your back and legs don't give out & start aching as my have. Reattaron
  14. Please find out the price of the burgandy seats. What kind of shape are they in? Are there worn spots, or discolored spots. Thank you Reattaron
  15. I use Fel-Pro tranny gaskets & use high strength threadlocker...Red. No problems in 3 years. Padgett... i was under the opinion that heat is harder on the longivity of the tranny, so i decided to lower the temperature of the fluid. My mechanic mentioned to me that you just can't get the fluid too cool.
  16. I've done like Barney Eaton.... I run the tranny fluid strickley through auxillary tranny coolers. It does not go through the radiator any more.I found the bigest one to be from Ford F-100's with a towing package. The fluid is cool to the touch, even after driving more than a 1/2 hour.I suspect you've done this also Padgett?
  17. BTW.....What's the advantage of using synthetic tranny fluid ? I change the fluid every 40/50 thousand. Thank You Reattaron
  18. Fram filters aren't all that bad ???????? go to...http://www.knizefamily.net/minimopar/oilfilters/opinions.html......& if that doesn't convince you. go to ...LesabreT.com's Oil filter write up.. Then let us know what you think of Fram. I was once in my mechanics garage & a customer bought the oil & filter for him to change. He bought the best oil (Royal Purple)......& a Fram filter. made no sence to me ! ! ! thank you Reattaron
  19. I'am getting ready to change the tranny fluid in my Reatta,& was wondering which brand filter to use, & where to get it? Thank you Reattaron
  20. The bladder doesn't just slide in that easy. You have to work it in while someone pulls the back of the cover away from the seat. You'll see why it's better to remove the seat. It's not that difficult.....4 nuts and an electrical connection. I don't have the 16 way seat, so i installed the bladder from the bottom of the seat back.Have fun & enjoy motoring when you install it. Let us know how you like it. Reattaron
  21. You can thank Barney Eaton....he's the one who found Wise Guys Seats
  22. Sorry....i forgot to include the item # from Wise Guys.....107A
  23. The manual air lumbars are the ones i installed. They're easy to put in,just remove the seat,&then removethe metal rings that hold the seat back cover in place,& slide them in.You'll need someone to pull the cover away from the seat, & just work them in. You'll only need to push them up about 4" or so.Adjust them to fit you lumbar.
  24. The seats are even more comfy since i instslled the lumbar air bags from Wise Guys seating.
