Reattaron

I have a 90 vert, & for at least 3 years now the rear brakes rattle. I've put at least 2 sets of rear antirattle clips on it with no success. What is the odds of it needing new calipers? (which is what i'am going to do). And which calipers are rebuilt in the USA? What brand would anyone suggest? I"ve not had good luck with NAPA auto parts (which is the calipers that are on it now). I've also tried a NAPA EGR valve & it crapped out after 3 months, had to go with AC Delco, which works fine. Is Cardone a good brand? Also which brake pads would you suggest? And finally, which rotors are made in the USA? Please don't say Raybestos, as i sent for new Raybestos rotors for my PARK AVE. & it was printed right on the box.....That awful phrase... MADE IN CHINA. Thanks for all your help! Reattaron

BUSHWACK............last spring i had the sunroof in my Reatta do the same thing. Open but not close. Thanks to Steveskyhawk,he sent me a working sunroof out of a Mazda RX7, & now it works great. He also enclosed goof proof instructions. You might want to plan on replacing the sunroof. Reattaron

Barney...... do you suppose the Grand AM brakes will get rid of the infamous "Reatta rear brake rattle" ? I have a 90 vert & i just can't get the rattle out of it ,inspite of changing the anti rattle clips three times. My next thought was to change the calipers, but i'am going to sell it. Also...i used to have a 1998 Buick Regal GS with the supercharger. It also had the ceramic brake pads, & the darn thing went through front rotors like you wouldn't believe. I suspect the ceramic pads were heating up the rotors & warping them. I was told to try the drilled & sloted rotors but i never did. I sold the car, so i don't know if the drilled & slotted rotors would make any difference or not. By the way, i didn't drive the car hard, and jam on the brakes. Let me know what you think. Angelo..... as long as you have the struts out, you might also want to consider changing the strut mounts. Reattaron.

I just looked at the pic., that someone on this forum cleaned up. It didn't look pretty, it reminded me of the 90 coupe i use to have, it also come from Cincinnati. I bought it to drive in the winter,but i replaced soo many parts & spent soooo much money on it that it became my daily driver, thus saving miles on my vert. My vert needs to have the rust repaired in front of the wheel wells, & my Green coupe needs some dents repaired & a complete paint job,before summer. So i have my hands full right now. Did you notice as soon as someone cleaned up the pic. of the underside of the S60 they took it off the forum? ? ? Have a good one. Reattaron

In the 90 FSM 0n page 8a-14-17......ground distribution, clean up the first 6 grounds. That will refer you to ...8a-201-7-d, the grounds that are on the radiator support & behing the battery near the fender. Also look at 8a-201-0-d, 201-8-c,& 201-9-a. Clean up the connections & put something on them to inhibit corrosion. Reattaron

Barney Eaton found these manual air lumbars from this company a couple years ago.... Wise Guys Seats & Accessories Corp. - Frames, Foam, Seat Upholstery & Accessories. I have them in both seats in both my Reattas, & they really save my back on a long drive. They'er $65.00 ea. & well worth it if you have back problems ! Reattaron
