  1. i looked up some pictures and i looks like a chrome bumper but i couldnt find any actual refrence to wether it is or not
  2. o yeah, stock restoration 100% hot rods are yucky and believe me when i say i have seen people climbing on cars and doing stupid stuff, and it makes me cringe evertime i see it. however the actions one certain people should not judge a group. as i have said if you are truley interested in involving teens or even younger kids in anqique cars then get involved with schools. there are lots of educated young people out there who actually respect the cars and the work put into them. and if you are truley worried about people touching your car you would be amazed at one of those rope lines can do. i post this not as an argument but in hopes that people read it and consider another point of view, being around cars for many years i have seen tradgedy, i have seen stupid people doing stupid things and i have seen the reactions of the owners. But what i never will forget seeing is the look on a young childs face when a chrome covered classic quietly glides by them. this is a moment im sure all drivers have experenced and enjoyed, because just bringing your car out of the garage for a sunday cruise or a local show can spark the intrest of a child for life and encourage a new generation in the future
  3. its nice to hear about other young people interested in old cars. myself, im 17 and have been a member for i think two years now. but truthfully ive been going to meetings since i was knee high w/ my grandparents. I love old cars and encourage as many people as i can to help at our annual show, but it seems there just isnt enough to draw people to our cars. I personally think it is because so many owners keep thier cars in garages and behind doors so much. perhaps if people were willing to get involved with schools, wether it be putting on a small meet or organizing a program to teach about our old cars then there would be more interst. o, and i may not drive model A's but my 57 bel air will be a cruiser in no time flat. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

  6. well the best answer to your question is skip the caddie all toegther ;0
  7. by far the 57 bel air is my favorite but i also think they are highly over rated. I love my car because it was my grandmothers so in a way the best car is a car that has meaning to you. Because without a story a car is just molded metal and wiring.
  8. guess you dont need my help (definitally a paige)
  9. nice picture i printed it out and by tommorow my grandfather will have it identified and probally have a dozen reasons why it is what it is. no worries you came to the right place

  13. hey we're not all bad some of us are respectiful of other peoples property
  14. good stories being only 16 i have even seen my fair share of stupid people. you have to love the little kids who decide to run thier toy cars up a fender or the guys who think if its there for show its thiers to play with. i remember last year at my chapters local show i was showing an elderly(very eldery) lady the cars. she was hoping to see a franklin like her father drove growing up. didnt she run her hans up and down the doors and fenders. i didnt want to be rude to her or even worse disrecpectful so i just thanked god she had a light touch and no rings. its tough at some shows i've been to when car owners just eye you waiting for you to touch thier car. but remember some "kids" have grown up around these cars and understand the time and money in them. However i dont blame you i've caught people leaning on my grandfathers 1929 durant before and believe me i was not polite. the best advise i can give is educate (with out threat) and put a rope around yor car as extra insurance ps- if some one busted into my car or tried to start it i would have them arrested *a car is a car no matter its age and thierfor you are intitled to repair money* -flaaca junior -1957 chevy bel air

  17. its an outlet for the the lake but what do you mean 1500? did you mean 12:00?
  18. im glad you enjoyed the show. it did turn out well considering the rain the previous day we normally have about 50-75 more cars but i think people didnt want to risk it. in all we had around 320 cars. in previous years we have pushed 500 but i think the rain is major deterent. i guess we're lucky other than part of the field being flooded the lake was beautiful and if i can figure out how to post pictures in here i will post some. i think i saw a 55 olds there but where was the buick bob? we did have some very nice cars this year. there was an american austin that i had to stop and look at and also a very old and unrestores Reo. in all a good and interesting turn out
