  1. I bought 27 random (mostly Carter) fuel pumps and a few other odds and ends from an online auction about 45 minutes from me.

Felt it was only natural to drive a classic car to pick up classic car parts, so took the '65 Wildcat.

Beautiful day and I had a beautiful co-pilot! (someone please tell my wife I said that....I need the points!)

  2. The sticker for the codes should be in the door jamb for the tailgate on tge estate wagon. Open it up like a normal door (don't flip it down) and it should be right there.

AFAIK, the tow package had wiring for the lights, hitch, trans cooler, and maybe a different rear end,

I checked my '96 wagon last night and that's exactly where my option code tag is. On the body, visible only when the rear gate is opened.

  3. My daughter wanted to go to the library yesterday, so we fired up the wildcat and went for a drive. Stop and go traffic all the way there during 5pm rush hour. First time the '65 had been out in about 9 months. The library we went to didn't have the book she wanted, so we hopped on the highway for a 15 mile trip up the road. Roxanne performed flawlessly. On the way home, we hit a stretch of back roads that were my favorite to explore on my motorcycle and they did not disappoint in the Buick either.

We both had a great time. I'm glad she was looking at the wrong library inventory numbers!

  4. Here is the photo link from our first annual car show.

We had prepared for 75 cars and had overflow for about 125. We ended up with 163 registrations and about 195 cars total including club cars, dealer cars and those that arrived after our extended registration period.

  5. Greetings everybody,

I just joined the AACA and wanted to say hi. My name is Pete and I have a 1965 Buick Wildcat custom hard top to restore, so I'll need a lots of lots new friends to make her float again :-)

That was my first car when I was 16!

Good luck with the restoration. When you get started start a thread in Me and My Buick.

  6. When I was 16 I painted a 1974 Corolla ($200 car) with auto spray paint from Big Lots. It was $.25 a can.

I didn't know anything about color sanding, buffing or overspray at the time...and it showed. Very rough, dull finish.

Best $2.50 paint job ever! It was better than yellow with rust spots!
