  1. If I wanted to hook the B/U lights to this where would the wire go? I suspect it is going to go to the Hot, but I just want to be sure before I hook it up. The mirrow works great, but I can see where a night time B/U would be better if the mirror was returned to clear. Thanks in advance Rick
  2. Does the wire to the B/U lights have to be connected too?? Thanks in advance
  3. Just got an auto dimming rear view mirror and was wondering how the hook up can be done. There are three wires off the mirror, one black (I assume is the ground) one solid green and one is pink with a black stripe. Can someone give me an idea of where these wires go. Thanks in advance.
  4. Right now I have a 1985 2M6 auto that I am currently restoring. Parts aren't nearly as hard to find as Reatta parts. I found a place in Lebanon Conn. That has BUCO Fiero Parts. They are a fun car BUT NO protection in a crash. As for the Reatta parts.....................hello Jim !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Looking to sell my 89 Reatta Cpe. Car has 181K miles and is in good shape. Have done lots of repairs and replacement of parts. Need room for other project cars. Don't want to part this out, wan to sell whole. Car driven daily and has current inspection/registration.Photo's on request Tranch01@hotmail.com $1200.00 or BRO
  6. Well it has been a wonderful 2 years with the Reatta, but now it's time for me to part ways with her. I'm looking to get $1200.00 for it. It's a black on Garnet Red Cpe. All the instruments work and all the guage pods are bright. Just replaced the w/s a few months ago. Need to make room for other projects. Car is driven daily but it drew the short straw. E Mail me if anyone is interested.
  7. I replaced my fuel tank recently and have just started driving the car again. How long will it take for the car to start reading the correct MPG's. Also what is it that the car uses to gather the MPG info. Does the gas guage and speedometer run in unison and calculate the MPG. If so if you haave a bad gas guage will it give a false reading to the MPG calculations ? Thanks for replies
  8. Get in touch with Jim Finn more than likely he'll have what you need jfinn@cpinternet.com
  9. I just replaced the gas tank in the Reatta and noticed that there is a brake line leak on the left rear where the L&R rear brake lines converge. There is a round cylinder shaped part #*935844T00035929* is this a dealer avail item? I am going to replace it as one of the brake lines going into it is corroded and that is where the leak is. Any Idea of cost and avail???? Thanks in advance...
  10. I just had my insurance company cover the cost of replacement for the w/s in my Reatta. I understand the cost was somewhere in the neighborhood of $1800.00 including the labor and freight charges from somewhere in Georgia. Lucky for me I took the Comp/Collision on the car. I uncovered the car a while ago and it appeared that a tree btanch broke off and clobbered the w/s and lft/pillar post.
  11. Yes Speedway is the place I was thinking of. Has anyone done business with them? Thanks BlackReatta
  12. I happened to see a place in Phoenix Arizona that has numerous Reatta's listed as parts cars, but for the damn of me I can't find it again. Is there someone out there that knows of this place and has the web address??
  13. Found a gas tank on EBay, the problem is do we really have only 18 gallon tanks as the onr onE bay is listed as?? I also found a Sending unit for 89 and straps too.
  14. Looking for a gas tank and a sending unit for a 1989 Reatta. Mine is leaking and I guess the way to go is to replace the entire unit with a LKQ or new one. Someone please point me to a vendor that can ship these to me. Thanks LilRik
  15. Well here goes. I replaced the harmonic balancer a few weeks ago and I noticed recently that the pulley was either bent ot misaligned. When I took the balancer off I noticed that the two metal sheilds that run in the crank shaft positioning sensor where, what looked like to me, out of line. I checked them against the old one and sure as heck they were. Well now that I have the new harmonic balancer in the car the "Sputtering" has stopped and the mileage has increased to 23.6 mpg on the highway. Oh I also replaced the crank sensor too.
  16. OK so suppose I do break the lines going to the filter. can I run a piece of Neopreme(gas line hose) instead of the filter to get the car home? I know with my luck the nuts are going to turn the line and break at the ends.
  17. I know that the fuel line is under pressure and before I replace the filer it has to be released, but how much pressure is there on the line. I see that the fuel filter is a bolt on type but is that because of the pressure on the lines or did Buick want this to be a P.I.T.A. too????????????
  18. Put in a new ignition module and a new coil. Problem still there. sprayed the fuel filter with PB Blaster gonna attempt to remove it tomorrow. May need to make new flanges for the lines if PB Blaster don't loosen it.
  19. Well I just got back from the recycled parts yard, and I found a complete Motorola coil pack set up for the car. It came off a 1992 Buick 3800. I am on the way to the garage to replace the unit and see what the outcome is. Later !!
  20. Well I replaced the spark plug wire and it appeared that the problem was solved BUT>>>>>>> I notice that the problem starts when the car has been driven for a while. If it sits and cools down it will run graet, then about 8 miles into the drive it will start to hesitate and I can feel the draw back. Looking for any help Thanks
  21. Well I just replaced the coil pack and the problem is still there. I did notice that the harmonic balancer that I replaced a week ago is wobbling side to side, and I drove to the parts store and a new one will be here on Friday. I am also going to do the Fool(fuel)filer at that time too. Will advise what the outcome is.
  22. My Reatta just started to sputter last weekend as I was heading to a wedding in the Boston area. I had just done plugs and PCV/Breather element/harmonic balancer. I wa wondering if maybe the fool(fuel) filter could be the culprit??? Thanks for any help.
  23. Is it possible to get replacement door jamb switches for the Reatta. Is there another Buick or GM that has the same switches??
  24. Today I got the crap scared out of me. I guess the Harmonic balancer decided to come apart. Sounded like the entire motor fell out of the car. I see that the rubber fell apart and a strip fell out. Went to AutoZone and got a new one. I also am going to replace the water pump. Guess I'll be in the same area so I might as well kill 2 birds with one wrench.
  25. The Fiero I have is a 1985 SE 2M6. It's a "Notchie" but from what I hear it's a somewhat desirable model because its a 6 cyl auto. I originally bought it to cut in half and do a 3 wheel trike from it, but once I got into the model and ser# I decided to keep it original. As for the "FIRE" problems, those were on the 1984 model. The car had neopreme fuel lines and the heat from the engine (they do get VERY hot) baked the lines and made them rupture. Mine has all steel lines. There is a great discussion board on the Fiero too. Later Dudes and Dudettes.
