My 1991 TC ran fine when it was put in the garage, a few days later it wouldn't start. Engine turns over, battery has full charge, 12 volts going to the ignition coil (new coil didn't help), fuses are good. Could it be the ECM ?

It could be the distributor, but without proper diagnoses we are only guessing.  It is rarely the ECM, unless you have some sort of theft prevention connected. You apparently have a 3.0L.

Recommendations where I can find a replacement radio for my 90 T/C?

Model number is 4469312, but I believe several other models would also fit.  (I checked the fuses)

AM/FM, CD/Cassette.  Go searching the wrecking yards for any newer Chrysler products, cars and vans. Just be sure the 2 mounting tabs on the outsides of the radio match the radio in your car.

1991 TC in great shape.  All of the sudden can not get the soft top down.  I can hear the electric motor pulling down the pegs, even though top is already locked open.  Tonneau locked and wont open while trying to lower top.  Have tried the mechanism in the trunk (turning counter clockwise) but does not seem to help.

    ANY SUGGESTIONS.  THANKS HOWARD

How long have you had this TC and have you ever put the top up or down, down in the well? Your explanation of what you are attempting to do is unclear. What are you doing, playing with the motor, while putting the top down? Or, are you talking about ‘locking’ the top down?’
    A clearer explanation would help.

    Good Evening Guys,

This is Alejandro from Tijuana, Mexico.

Just bought a Chrysler TC a few days ago and looking forward to work on it,

my question is, is there any car which shares body parts with our model?,

Ive found very limited access to any replacement parts out there due to its rarity...

What i need the most would be Front & Rear indicator lights, rear passenger tail light and rear bumper.

I also live in San Diego, CA so its easy for me to get parts thru mail.

Thanks in advance to everyone out there!

I sent you a PM yesterday, apparently you have not yet seen or read it.  Look at the top right of the page, see the ENVELOPE?  Click on it!

I need to find front anti lock speed sensors for my 1990 TC! Can anyone help?

Hello John, you need to tell us which side you need the sensor for, passenger or driver side. Then someone who is parting out a TC could simply remove it and send it to you. The length of the wiring is different from side to side.

Got a new one y'all. A valet broke my headlight switch that turns the lights on/off. So, finally got it replaced and my headlights are now flashing on/off/on/off repeatedly when I drive. Usually takes a few minutes after I first turn them on for it to start to do it. When it happens, I can't flash the high beams either, as it turns off both sets of lights until it flashes back on about 3-5 seconds later. Any ideas? Is this likely a relay problem? Could it be a bad (new) switch?

From your description of the problem of the on/off timing of the headlamps, and if you had NO PROBLEMS prior to the valet breaking your headlamp switch, which I find difficult to understand in the first place, my conclusion would be that whoever installed the replacement headlamp switch acquired a very poor quality switch or a used switch and you will need to buy a NEW, better quality switch yourself and have it installed either by the same person who did it before or someone else, unless you are able to do it yourself.

    Good day,

I have come to the forum for assistance with respect to getting a '91 TC ready for sale. I'm doing this to help an elderly friend who wants to sell her deceased husband's TC. Awkward, as I'm a car guy but know nothing about these cars and I'm in Oregon while she's in California. I have searched on-line for repair and/or service manuals and have come across several that are nebulous about what content is in the manual. I don't need a lot of extensive repair guidance. Mainly, operational procedures, service intervals, fluid specs, etc. along those lines.

I also need a bit more depth as I need to know how to drain the fuel tank or pump it dry by disconnecting a fuel line before it gets to the fuel injectors, for example. At this point, I'm assuming it has an accessory position on the ignition switch but I don't even know that for sure. Do any of you in the forum have a recommendation for a manual that isn't over the top with detail and cost?

Working all of this out remotely will be difficult for sure but I do have a "car guy" friend close to where the car is so it will mostly just be inconvenient to address what needs to be done. At the end of the day I'm looking to get the car cleaned up, running, and operational so I can help to get her as much value out of the car as can, realistically, be achieved for what's there.

    Please advise.

    Thank you.

    Cheers,

    Rick

  8. rick@rdiperformance.com  is the email address for sure.

When I had my MOPAR repair shop, I use to make up the spark plug wire set for the 16V engine. A lot cheaper than buying it after the factory set became unavailable.

You just need a roll of ignition cable and the correct terminals for the distributor and the spark plugs and of course a professional hand held CRIMPER.

Reuse the boots at each end.  It's not all that hard to do.

If you paid $2500. for a new headlight assembly, you got taken. Probably the whole car wasn’t worth much more than that.

25 years ago? That would be 1998, more or less.  And you would say that an 8 year old, or so, TC would not be worth much more?  Goes to show what you think of these cars.
There is no doubt that those selling items such as headlamps, new or used were overcharging for them. But, they knew that they had the buyer over a barrel.
GREED works for the greedy, but they will pay in time.

I paid $2500 about25 years ago from Larry Carlson.... hmmm

It does make you wonder about people!  I got a laugh from another seller years ago, 1999 I think it was, when I inquired about a right side headlamp, not quite such a high price was quoted.  My insurance company ended up paying for it when it was purchased through a Chrysler dealer, for the body shop that was in need of it.
