  1. For my 1925 coupe, I just removed the lock and took it to a local locksmith and they made 3 keys for me for $8. It was a Yale lock so they were familiar with it but any good locksmith should be able to make your keys from the lock you have.
  2. If you go to www.alcoa.com/eaglecam/ you will see a pair of nesting eagles that they have set up a webcam on. They are right across the river from the meet location. Since they just hatched two eaglets and have mouths to feed, they would just love to have a chicken to eat so be sure to bring yours along. Can you cook it so it is not so rubbery?
  3. When I was doing my 1925 coupe I checked on the spokes and painted blue was standard but natural finish was an option on some models. I wasn't able to find out what models were included in this option but after doing all of the work sanding down my spokes I decided I liked the natural finish and did them that way figuring I could always paint the later if I wanted to. However, in 1925 blue seems to have been the basic standard for spokes.
  4. In the state of IOllindiana we do not allow cohabitation with chickens although there are exceptions for politicians.
  5. The motor was on the car at Gettysburg but not working. It was kind of a windshield ornament at that time. As for the problems I had with the car at Gettysburg, I have good news and bad news. The good news is that I worked a lot on the car when we got home and got it running really well. I even took it to an AACA meet and got a First Junior, which was pretty unexpected. The bad news is that I made the mistake of doing a whole bunch of things to the car all at the same time so now I don't know which one fixed the problem in case it happens again. Bummer! By the way, Moline is in the state of Iollindiana in case Joe reads this. In otherwords somewhere in the Midwest. It all looks the same to him.
  6. It's not the "famous; Dick Perry, just the infamous Dick Perry. The one from Moline, IL. Also the one hosting this years DB Meet in June so be nice or you will be sleeping in your car. I will have to let everyone look at my wiper motor t the meet and see if anyone has a guess, maybe a prize for the best answer. It has been repainted so I assume any identification was probably a decal on the housing that was removed before painting. We will just call it a mystery motor so I will use Marvel Mystery Oil in it.
  7. The thing that intrigues me is that it is 12 volt and most cars were still 6 volts until the 50's. It mounts on the outside of the windshield frame with the switch handle and the electrical connection inside (through holes in the frame) like it was made for that type of windshield. It does fit very well and does not obstruct opening the windshield. By the time other cars were 12 volts they had dual wipers and the motors were under the dash. Could it be off of a truck? I have just never seen another one.
  8. When I got my 1925 Business Coupe it had an electric (12V) wiper motor on it. I have tried to get it working for several years off and on and finally have it working smoothly. It is nice to have but I do not think this could be original to the car. It is probably an after market or off some other car. Has anyone had any experience with one like this? There are no markings, numbers or identification of any kind inside or out. I have had it completely apart and found nothing. I will try to attach pictures here and hope it works.
  9. Okay, thanks a lot. I'll give them a try.
  10. I am looking to buy a fan belt pulley for my 1925 DB Coupe. This is the pulley that goes on the water pump shaft for the belt that goes up to fan, not the pulley on the fan assembly itself. I would appreciate any suggestions of who I might be able to contact that might have one.
  11. Am working on the floor boards for my 1925 business coupe. I have the linoleum and edge trim done but I do not know what the trim around the various holes for the gear shift, brake, pedals, etc. is supposed to look like. I have nothing of the originals. Can anyone give me a description or send a picture to give me something to go by? Any help would be appreciated.
  12. I like the stainless idea, however, I do not have any of the original trim to get the measurements. Could I get the dimensions from someone. All of the countertop molding I have been able to find is definitely too big and doesn't really look right.
  13. Does anyone know a source for the metal trim that goes around the floor boards and running boards for a 1925 coupe. At one time someone did mine with 3/4" aluminum angle which I want to replace. Also, does anyone sell the battleship gray linoleum?
