I was watching the old "Perry Mason" ace attorney show on TV last night. An identical white 1959 BUICK wagon showed up quite well in the background of one of the location shots. It was parked in front of a room entrance at a "Palm Springs motel". Lots of earlier '50's convertibles in the same series of California exterior shots. It's fun to be taken back in time like that. Yes, it would, EmTee! 7,600 miles...very nice...IF accurate. The poor condition of the donut spare tire is odd. The RIV is oddly missing the spare tire fabric cover, which is usually present even in high mileage RIVIERA's. Not what you'd expect in a cream puff. Installation of an aftermarket stereo amp in the trunk seems strange addition to such a conservative, low-mileage RIV that was going to be babied, and not used much. The seller also notes he "replaced front rotors and brake pads and replaced front-end suspension arms and linkage"...not work one would think needed at 7,000 miles. And finally (at least for me), the undercarriage photos don't scream 7,000 miles. I mean think how few miles 7,000 actually are. Not much should happen to a car in that few miles, including build-up of crud on the undercarriage and suspension.
As with most collector cars, an interested buyer would really have to inspect this car in person and give it one heck of a good test drive. After all, $17,000 is not chump change for this vintage of RIV. Thanks for posting. John

Hi, Michel. I sent you a private message here on the forum. Just click on the little envelope in the top right corner of this page. John

This is unbelievable, Bill. Good luck, as you keep trying. FYI: I've had good luck removing stuck-in-place VR covers by using a small block of wood and a small hammer. You simply gently tap around the BOTTOM side of the regulator cover edge perimeter. Good luck! John

Here's a fun fact. SHREVE & COMPANY (the store in the background) is a high end San Francisco, CA jewelry designer...STILL IN BUSINESS TODAY. From Wiki: Shreve & Company is an established retailer of jewelry, from timepieces to diamonds, headquartered in San Francisco, California. Incorporated in 1894 by George Rodman and Albert J. Lewis, it is considered the oldest commercial establishment in San Francisco. John

I have an solid state inverter available....but unfortunately, it's designed to do just the opposite of what you need. The invertor I have for sale is designed to run a 12v item in a 6v system car. I've found the inverter I have is useful for running a CB radio or a modern am/fm/CD player in a 6v collector car. Sorry I couldn't help. John

Hi, Roberta. I found some photos showing the BUICK Breeze-Ease wind deflectors in a forum post from 2015. This should give the guys (and gals) a better idea of what this seldom-seen BUICK accessory is. They're really pretty classy looking, when installed, aren't they?
Since there's chrome plating and glass involved, I would think your friend would be wise to open the sealed original box to check for glass damage and/or chrome pitting before selling. Most, if not all buyers will want to know. The 2015 posting referenced the mounting brackets being impossible to find, if missing. Again, a buyer will want assurance these brackets hadn't fallen out of the box sometime over the last 75 years! Hope this info helps your friend and the forum viewers. John

This is a genuine GM accessory rubber trunk mat. It's designed to lay on top of the standard factory trunk carpet. Very lightly used. Fits 1979-1985 BUICK RIVIERA. May also fit other BUICK's of this approximate vintage. This mat measures 46" across at its widest point and 28-3/4" front to back. Note the factory relief in the mat to accommodate the trunk latch tower.
I removed this original GM accessory trunk mat from the trunk of a low-mileage RIVIERA many years ago. The mat is in very good condition. Very flexible, no wear evident, only lightly used for a few years early in its life.
The price is $120, plus the shipping. Thanks for looking. John

This is an original equipment DELCO-REMY headlight switch for 1941 to 1949 BUICK. Part # 1995016. Fits 1941 to 1948 BUICK, all series, and 1949 BUICK, 40 series.
Excellent condition and tested. I have also chemically cleaned and lubricated the internal brass contacts. To my surprise, I found this 1941-1949 headlight switch inside a DELCO-REMY box for a 1939 BUICK headlight switch! I don't think its NOS, but it was super clean and worked fine, even before I did the internal cleaning and lube.
It might be good to have a spare on the shelf, guys. The price is $50, plus the shipping. John
