Matt and others, take a look up in the general section for the DB video on utube for the proper way to paint a DB. I especially like the guy that is beefy enough to hold a crank shaft from the end by a pair of tongs to place it in the forge while it is red hot. There's a good story how this video was brought out from down under. A friend is responsible for saving it.

Does anyone know when the Montana 500 race is in 2024?

I have seen the kick plates before but not often. They could be lasered or water jetted out pretty easily.

I like those stone guards. I don't think we had them here.

Matt, just wondering if all the lil' nose pickers have had a chance to put fingerprints on your fresh paint?

If you order a gross of them I'll make them. I have never seen top rests plated in the US.

Matt, I do not make that style. Just up to mid 1920.

No it’s going to be black. I sand blasted it this morning and it has a few holes in it so it would be almost impossible to Nickle it.
the top half is good but the bottom it where the trouble is. It was originally black on this car anyway.Just thought you may be going whole hog. I have not seen anyone nickel the top saddles, thought you may do the windshield too.

I see the windshield corners on the floor. Will the whole windshield be nickeled?

Matt, are you able to plate the top rests as an assembly without getting shadows?

Perfect!! Matt, did the Aussie cars come with a jack? If so do you have any pictures of them. They have been a point of contention here in the US.

I've been told the starter should freewheel at 350 rpms minimum without the chain attached.

Did you contact the AACA library to get a copy of the owner's manual?

I have not noticed specific brands. DO they show double white walls in their ads?

Matt, my buddies that had the body shop used those wheels. At first they thought the wheels would just make the job easier and faster. But they soon found out it was better too. That color sure looks good!

VERY similar but doors seem to be different sizes. The whole wood body is new, and we have no idea what they started with. It's beautiful, but who knows if it's correct.

It is, and thanks for the ID. We have thought that is was a Cantrell, but have no proof.

Harry's 1927 was just sold recently. The truck in the picture is the 1925 that was donated to the DBC by a member, Al Witek. It is now in the AACA museum.

So from your educated guess would this be a Cantrell? And keep in mind the Brothers thought a lot of Fred Haynes. He was the third leg of the corporation. John and Horace each had 50000 worth of stock and they gave Fred 5000. He became President and ran the company for the widows until Dillon Reed took over.

Yes, Carl was the name I could not remember. There are two versions of the decal, early and late, make sure you have the right one. I am not familiar enough to help you ID. Maybe AACA library can help. Matt Hocker at the library knows our collection and their's real well.

I can't remember his name but I met him at Hershey shortly before he died. I am glad that you were able to buy it and appreciate it. Did Cantrell actually have a body tag or did they just use the decal above the windshield? Did you search the sales receipts on the DBC website for the serial number? The one batch was from a dealer in N.Y. and many were Cantrells.

What a great looking car. Did this belong to the widow of a long time DBC member?

Cub Cadet lawn tractors use a very similar shade. I like it, will look good with most any other color.

The video brings up a lot of questions. The cars in this video appear to be maybe 1916 or 17. One we have discussed is when were the engines painted. If anyone has a clue I would like to hear it. Another video shows about 8 engine blocks on a pallet having the head surface machined at one time. I think they appear bare at that point. There is a similar video playing at AACA museum 24 7 on a tv in the DBC owned station wagon.
