  15. the scammers are good at hiding their identity, and as you say! you never know what kind of nut is out there, but, i say screw em! they are poor 3rd world idiots, and i chased my scammer after i let him think i was a good target, the entire thing hinged upon my home phone! i put as unidentified callers block onto it, after i told him i went to the bank and i have his money to wire!!! he was hooked so bad- and i did it on a friday, i told him im going to the bank for your money, so call me tonight or tomorrow with the address....he fell for it. from that evening until saturday morning my phone would ring to tell me i had an unidentified caller on the line-and my telephone system as most do, ask you if you want to take just this call? which i kept on replying NO! so he must of got so mad, he had to use another phone of his which then broadcasted a number, which can be tracked now... i did track him, and i called the number which was his home phone!!! he freaked, and i told him im sending a friend down to his house.-he answered and said you do not know where i live, i said listen pal do you think i would waste all this amount of time if i didn't know where you lived! in BIG PINE KEY FLORIDA!!! look it up, on map quest, this little bastard hung up the phone so fast, i think i heard him running out the front door with his lap top in tow, dragging the power cord! picture that!!! he never called me since, not once!
  16. thanks for the encouragement reatta man! and matt thank you for that explicit display, im still crackin up' over that one!
  17. i got scammed, i still have the check 54,000 $ as a trophy i played their game, once i had them convinced i was a good target, they spelled out exactly were to wire my good money back to them, in the UK i used mapQuest and found a different western union address rather than the one they told me to send the wire to! it required them to drive over an hour to this other western union!!! then they called me for the 10 digit id code that western union puts on all of their wire's. so i gave the man his own telephone number back to him in one continuous number, he never even realized it!! he called me back and actually had an attitude slightly that i felt over the phone, then while he was at the western union, i let him have it!!! i let him know that he should spread the word that america is laughing at him and his people right now! he was pissed! at me!!! but...the authorities i asked to help me said this in so many words. here is what the bank fraud unit replied, we have bigger fish to fry! and i need to tell you, they were very accessible to me they were very attentive, they made me feel ok with there concern but let me know even though these scammers are using the chase bank of texas's old issue check's they just did not have the time to chase it- they were over loaded with other cases- which translates: these scammers can prey upon other unsuspecting honest individuals! so beware, don't be too hasty, money up first! and walk that check to the bank like it's the first day of school!! make sure you talk to the bank that it originates from, and ask for the fraud unit, they will have the latest info on what's going on, if you dont! the regular paper shufflers at the bank are not required to inspect and determine if your check is fraudulent, that is the duty of someone else! so here you sit thinking after 30 days your clean and green, then you get the call from the bank that the fraud unit finally got around to looking at your check, and determined it's not good! then you get debited, and there isn't a thing you can do about it! make sure you speak to the fraud unit at the bank-from the very beginning!
  18. way too much common sense, can i press the printer button so i can remember that? if i had something to sell that everyone believed in or at least wanted, i wouldn't need to hardly put anything up front, [For sale- liquid youth] maybe that's even too much information! ALL KIDDING ASIDE, what a great indicator it is, when you read an ad with little or no information. it really is a clue to you that the person your dealing with, is not very bright, and caution is urged, or they are shady characters living out their life's ambitions....the only reason you would even respond to these people is: 1- to try and educate the masses. OR- 2- this guy actually has something you really need!!!! OH WELL...will i ever learn?
  19. thanks for that reality check decembro- it truely is amazing how much something can get out of sorts, not that im a dealership friendly guy, i'll be the first to one to look at an try to fix a problem myself, "if" i could.but what if one wire fell out of your computer, and it relatively took the same amount of time? would you have justified the 23.96 then?? you would not have been able to figure that one out! so let's say the technician was under the hood and spotted this washer problem and notified you, you could have asked what it would take, and then - do it yourself!....then, by the time you went to the parts department, and paid for the part, ( $$$ expensive) then got the car home, and the hood up, and you under the car trying to put those ,one or two bolts in! (swearing is optional) think about that next time, and the fact that nothing is as inexpensive as it use to be, and after you have struggled with these 2 little washer bolts- then you will understand what's its about, and for those that just dont know how to handle mechanical things we are at the mercy of those that do, so atleast refrain from describing how easy the job is, and how outrageous the cost! remember one thing your the one that doesn't know what the mechanical systems are all about, so dont go making assumptions about how easy it is, or how a screw was picked up and cross threaded into position! phew! i mean come on folks!!
  20. i'll sell my 49 roady convertible for 30k today i'm not kidding either... try me!
  21. wouldn't you rather have a 49 buick?
  22. gee wiz im not sure what you can do now except call the police in that town and ask them to make a personal visit for you? i have done that before, not in california, so im not sure if they have that service for you? why didn't you send your shocks to "apple hydraulics" in new york? 2 week turn around the best to deal with, they always were ahead of my questions! just a pleasure to deal with!
  23. that was too funny, im still laughing!!!!!!
  24. somebody mentioned that they put their come-along, to good use! they connected it from the end of the torque-tube to the rear body, depending on what kind of set up you got going on, there is enough movement in the rear-end assembly to allow enough working space at the ball for minor repairs, and keeps this as much as a minor repair as it can! yeah....right!!! nothings simple. i would think double securing the rear end either way might be a good idea, with proper body support, i heard somewhere when these cars came into their local repair shops or the buick dealerships, as everybody got familiar with the routine of replacing this ball seal- various means and methods were developed to keep this job as simple as can be. im sure they had all kinds of spreaders and jacks and straps for several easy and safe ways to perform this job. gee, i wish i had a lift, someday!
  25. sounds good, you'll be fine! the best part is when you get it all together and your placing in the grease cap ends and shooting the joint with fresh grease! yahoo!
