  1. help please...

I think the reatta uses 5.25 in front speakers - please correct if wrong, and also correct me if these (below) speakers will not suffice or work decently for our needs on the Reatta

    Thanks,

    Nic

  2. Waaaaay to go wws944 ! ! ! Finally the right refinish instructions - a little complicated but great! I imagine the supplies are a little expensive as well, but worth it. I would think using 400 paper would suffice for sanding. Also your source is absolutely correct about : "in part because they start to oxidize immediately after the metal is exposed." Hopefully the cleaners in the instructions will help with this - should be in as little humidity as possible, and have supplies ready to shoot immediately after blowing the wheels dry from the cleaning solutions.

    Thanks again for posting....

    :)

Sears offers the Wolf Garage Storage 2-Ton Floor Jack with Stands and Creeper for $49.88. Choose free in-store pickup to dodge the $30.37 shipping charge. That's tied with last week's mention and it's $30 under the lowest total price we could find for a similar set elsewhere. Sales tax is added where applicable. The set includes one 2-ton floor jack, two jack stands, and one creeper.

  4. I am very sorry about the link - "I hate it when that happens". I tried to find and re - post but the set of 4 speakers were on a sale site and have since been taken off :( .

You folks have supplied enough information above I think to get me looking in the right direction......Thanks !

  5. Thanks for the replies / suggestions gentlemen. Some of the difficulties I have in diagnostics on this problem is that the symptom is intermittent in nature (when I need to have the vibration occur it simply won't of course). I and a technician friend have both inspected the harmonic balancer and it looks super fine (car also has 54,000 miles). Not positive but I/we don't think the vibration is brake related - seems to be coming from the engine - the front of the engine I feel.......

    Thanks again for the replies.....

  6. Usually when one side is bad the other is not far behind it so it sometimes pays to replace both at the same time. As far as diagnostics, I always found a 4 lane highway at a time when traffic was scarce. I drove the car above 50 mph where the bearing sets up a good "droan noise" and changed lanes both ways looking for a change in the tone of the droan. If you change lanes to the left and the droan noise becomes more apparent or louder, then the right bearing is the culprit or the bad side.........if you bear to the right lane and the noise is louder then the left is the bad side.

  7. This is an unusual problem.....

When starting my 91 and immediately putting the car in reverse and leaving a parking space in a shopping center (also turning the steering wheel one direction or the other - I think turning the wheel to the right the majority of the time), the whole front of the car sets up a Massive Vibration (both sound and feeling). I have to cut the engine off and re start several times and put in drive and reverse several times to end the vibration. The vibration seems like a real low end steering "under extreme load" noise/vibration.

I have checked the steering pump fluid and it is ok. Of course when I stop by a shop to get an opinion it does not mis behave :( ...... :)

Any diagnostic suggestions or ideas please?

    Thanks,

    Nic

  8. Interesting Waltmail - please post your findings.

    Ronnie,

There was a young man on this Forum approximately 5 or 6 years ago who had a perfect repair procedure for a complete transmission fluid change. He posted the step by step instructions for the procedure. He had a red coupe and was always doing something to the car and posting the results - I think he ever supercharged the Reatta however can't remember for sure. Very nice young man - his family owned a pluming business and he was a senior in high school - if someone could remember his name / handle maybe you could find his tranny fluid change post.....Just a thought.

  9. Advance Auto Parts coupons: 20% off no

I used the 40 off coupon code last week by phone - no problems at all.....

    minimum, $10 off $30, more

Advance Auto Parts continues to offer several coupons, as listed below. They're still among the strongest discounts we've seen from this merchant. (We saw 25% off sitewide briefly on Cyber Monday.) Shipping starts around $9, or spend $75 or more (after coupon) to qualify for free shipping. (Free in-store pickup is also available on most items.) Sales tax is added where applicable. Note that motor oil is excluded. The coupons (which do not stack):

  10. Young man on the forum several years ago (forget his name presently - had a red roadster and was a very frequent contributor to the forum) had developed a unique way to change ALL of the tranny fluid....maybe someone will remember his name ?????

Would be a positive if his procedure was incorporated into Ronnie's site....
