In the rear you only have a choice of modifing the suspension support insulators two on each side or changing out the leaf spring. The insulators are a strange combo of rubber and metal, machine shop action.
The front is easy since we are only talking about coil springs.
Too bad the 'trim height adjustment' never worked.

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
Lowering is the only way to get rid of fender gap. See chart on the link, you lost tire sidewall even thought the overall diameter changed a lttle.
I'm in the process of maybe lowering my car, it's a major undertaking. I rec'd the extra parts from James Finn and my mechanic will try to modify the parts to get about a 1.5" drop.
Thanks to Mr Finn he only charged me $80 for all the parts including the leaf spring plus the front coil springs.
I will keep the board posted to my progress.

I was trying to budget my money without going to the dealer, but I see my time is just about up. I guess they will be able to go on vacation soon and I will spend mine in front of the television. Dealer's smile when they see a old car pull up.
-
That was a mighty good guess Robert, since I purchased the car I only got the keyless alarm some months back and it is since not working properly. The local alarm shops state I need to have the dealer trouble shoot the problem. The programming steps work fine, but the handset will not lock/unlock the doors.
Now for your winning lottery picks!

Second time now that I get in cold motor car and turn key on and wait for couple minutes. Turn key off and then I try starter and the car starts immediately.

I think satellite radio is the best deal going. For the price of one cd or one large pizza a month I have over 100 music and news choice's nationwide. I presently have cd's and cassettes all over the house, plus you can never stay up to date.

Thanks I found a pair for twenty bucks used.
Now I will see how the new 6 x 9 Infinity's sound.

Today my car started right up.
I had driven it in two days, maybe it was already warm since it was after lunch and Atlanta has been very hot the past few days. I did turn the switch to on, but did not use the starter until the 'service soon' light went-off. But who wants to wait that long.
All the mechanic's want the car overnight to find the problem.
My good gas mileage is history, I am back to 17/18 with the a/c on in the city.

anyone have two for sale?
auto-parts-for-less lists them at $11.50 each, but not such if in stock or they may send the '89 frames.
-
Robert you're the man..... I don't know how you find these sites, but keep up the good work.
-
Let's see what happen's since I have the same problem and year car.
-
My brakes were fine until I had installed AC delco oem pads all around. The only trouble is on the driver rear............ rattle over bumps like a steel band. I used the part number above.
-
thanks I will give it a try

Does someone know how to clear the radio presets in memory 1 and 2? Everytime I set the radio station presets and store all five, when I later touch either memory soft keys all my presets are lost and the stations presets when I purchased the car return. The memory works fine for the fan and A/C those setting are not lost only the radio.

Padgett do you know the answer to my plug question? I have 5 blunt, shaved tip rapidfires and 1 with a fine point. My mechanic tried to another shaved tip but the thin type came in. The car running fine I'm just wondering what type was in your vehicles? All are #3
You are correct before the trip, I had a tune-up, and work on A/C just recharge. I like a synthelic blend the best, since the engine doesn't sound as tinny. Mineral oils sound the best at the exhaust, but are slow off the line and gas mileage is less.
-
I just returned from 900 mile trip to south Fla. I could tell a different with the Rapidfire plugs. I averaged 29 mpg with the A/C on. More pick-up too.
I was a liitle shocked about a hour after I tanked-up I checked my aver and it was on 31.8 at 70mph, wow Atlanta to Fort Lauderdale on $25 of gas.
-
You can purchase different size foam at any hobby or sewing shop.
Thanks, I'm going remove my door panels soon.
-
No time today, but it will call A/C delco tomorrow. Three different Auto Zone's only had 5 of the shaved type. The car is running fine; is one or the other discontinued.

Does anyone know what the current AC rapidfires #3
should look like?
I just returned from trying to locate two of the shaved blunt electrodes, but only found one. The other one has a sharp thin electrode.
-
I just purchased 6 rapidfires #3 today from Advanced Auto 4 of the plugs electrodes where the same, but other 2 were thinner. The gaps were the same on all I am headed to replace the other two now. I will have them installed tomorrow and report back.

Rawja where did you get your mounting frame from?
Robert those Infinity's are my next set.
I installed the kappa 60.5cs, 6 half in the rear, but un-amped they don't sound that good. Plus my panels are rattleing in the rear now, not from the sound but I think the crossover is touching something; thanks for the rubber foam tip.
I have the Kappa 50.5cs in the front I think they also need more juice. I purchased a Soundstream Class A amp but was afraid of electrical issues so I never installed it. Depending on how the 6 x9 sound I will either go with MTX 4244 amp (with smart engage system) or add a Infinity basslink Sub about the same cost for each. Ebay has good prices on the basslink. I will save the soundstream for the new PT cruiser turbo.
With a subwoofer you really don't need large other speakers for the system to sound good.
Most component systems sound best amped.
