Steve, I did that once with my Chevelle SS, when I checked over the engine I found that the rotor contact had actually moved causing a no start situation.I replaced the cap and rotor and everything was back to normal.It is also possible that you skipped the timing chain. ronvb

Shelby, I had extra keys made for my 90 Reatta at the local Locksmith/Lawn Mower shop. All they do for the ignition key is measure the resistance of the key grab a blank with that style chip in it and cut.It cost $25.00 for ignition and $3.00 for the trunk key. ronvb

There is a vacuum pull-off valve for choke in the back, check when car has warmed up if that that vacuum valve is pulling choke open.When warmed up choke should be open. Look for bad vacuum lines as well. ronvb

I owned 2 86 cutlasses both with the 307 engine,1 ran great the other had the exact same problem you describe.First of all is your check engine light on? If it is it is most likely emission related .You can pull the codes to get you in the right direction.Mine I replaced the sensor carb, the egr,the thin vacuum line that ran from the map sensor, the purge valve and finaly the real problem was found.It was the tvs sensor that bolts in the coolant passage in the manifold. Even though it appear ok it had melted and was not sending the right signal to the obd system for warm up.After that was replaced it ran like a top! ronvb
