R12 and R134-a- our not compatable.If your car is low on freon it will show bubbles in the sight screen on the top of the drier.There is a little plastic plug on the top remove it -run the car up to temp with air on high and look for bubbles.Suggestion-for about 20+ dollars each you could try a can or two of the little 1 pound cans of cold-shot r-12 that are still being sold privately in the car circuit. ronvb

Bob, While I am not certain with your 77, many of the older Chevys in order to get at the speaker you had to remove the top dashpad (usally screws and brackets holding it on) you then can get at the speakers from the top. ronvb

Mr Jamo, Try SMS AUTO FABRICS in Portland Oregon-503-234-1175, they usually run an ad in the Hemmings Magazine. They specialize in supplying obsolete fabrics for older car interiors.I am not certain if they have your pattern but it is worth a try, they did help me once. ronvb

Tom, With all that back-firing I would first suspect the timing chain stretched then broke. It could be bound up in the timing case cover and thats why she won't turn over. ronvb
