  1. My plan of attack was to first exercise every connection I could find, the ecc head, the light switch, the radio, etc. This was done with Rat Shack tuner cleaner and an old toothbrush. Lo and behold some things got better. Phase two was replace the sun load sensor, Not hard to obtain, little tricky removing the top of the dash without cracking it any worse than it already is. A thin bladed tool to work the catches on the dash and a T-15 Torx bit for everything else.

    Now absolutly everything works.

  2. You need a lot of usage of the SEARCH function up in the main menubar up at the top of the page. Be sure to extend the search range to more than a week. Here is a little tapedeck tidbit for you. What you can't find here you probably can find at www.reatta.net . Just in the last few days Barney had a post with a listing of parts cars.

  3. At $120 a week, you can't afford to make it fast but you can and should make it able to stop on demand. Your life depends on this. Scan the posts and you will see that the brakes will give out with no warning, If you don't have them fixed the recommended procedure is push the pedal with all you have, and your brakeing power will still be severly limited. The red light staying on is telling you something, listen to it. Fortunately the Reatta is built like a little tank and this is the only thing that has kept injuries to a minimum. Fix the brakes or get rid of it.

  4. Worry about your brake problem before you do anything in the go fast line. A vehicle that won't run won't get you in any trouble, A vehicle that won't stop will kill you. With the Teves system you will have reverse power brakes, the harder you push, the harder it pushes back. If you want to drive the Reatta and live to see 18 GET THE BRAKES FIXED before you worry about making it go fast,

Did I mention, GET THE BRAKES FIXED, if you don't, you are riding a ticking time bomb. perform the brakes test found at www.reatta.net and you will have an idea of what the problem may be. Might be a $10 relay, which for the sake of your life you could afford. I'ld hate to see a young kid dead for lack of a very inexpensive part. Oh yes, GET THE BRAKES FIXED.

  5. Go HERE take the break test, Now you have it home, be very carefull, When the brakes go they go, very dangerous situation. The previous link is part ot www.reatta.net between it and this forum most any question can be answered. Once again, both brake lights on is VERY dangerous. The yellow ABS light isn't good, but you do have brakes. Take the break test at the included link.

Post results and you'll get diagnosis.

  6. Cheapest and easiest tact to try is exercize the connection. Pull the connection off the back, spray with tuner cleaner, scrub with an old toothbrush, reconnect connection. Since it was a gradual decline, it could be a buildup of dirt in the connection. Be sure to do the connector on the back of the ECC and the plug. Only tool you will need is a T-15 Torx driver.

  7. What year vehicle? The factory service manuals for 89 , 90 and 91 are online at www.reatta.net If you have an 88 the 89 manual would probably cover the AC, no major changes between years. I'm not sure if the Parts and Illustrations is online yet but it has lots of diagrams and exploded views of almost all parts.
