  1. If you don't want to publically post your phone number you can contact me and leave it at my web address at Chacheska@webtv.net.
  2. How do I get in touch with you? A phone number would be nice. I'd love to talk to you about the Stutz or any other Classic you may have including Cadillacs, Packards and Chrysler Imperials.
  3. I bought two tire spoons and have mounted my tires that way without any Murphy's or any other lubricant although that would make it a little less labor intensive I'm sure.
  4. Hi folks. I have a '36 Pierce Arrow V12 sedan. As I'm going down the road and make a fast left the car stalls out. What's worse is that when the car is fully warmed up it barely cranks over. I have to let it sit for about an hour before it has enough cranking power to re-start. I bought a brand new battery but it didn't do a thing to alleviate the problem. Whataya think?
  5. I would be interested in your literature for a few years and a few makes of the several cars I own but you never left any contact information.
  6. Boy, am I glad I decided to check Hemmings before I hired P.C. Bear to haul my Packard from Texas. Like I said in a former post, I found he had 6 complaints in the year 2000 alone. If an advertiser places an ad in Hemmings it's always a good idea to call Hemmings to see if any complaints were lodged against them. Here's a case where he was suspended and advertised under a false name and state. I decided to go with Passport and they will be picking up the Packard late next week. I'm much more comfortable going with them after reading some of these posts and talking to a few car buddies. I haven't read this thread in 5 days and am amazed this is still going on! I'd love to print this out but don't think my cartridge holds that much ink! What a great club the AACA is. My best to you, Rick.
  7. I need to respond to an early post on this transportation issue. The post was regarding a good experience with P.C. Bear. Well, I called Hemmings about an advertiser who lists himself as Tom J. Walker regarding transport and found that the name is an alias for - you guessed it - P.C. Bear! He has been suspended for 6 complaints against him in the year 2000 alone. He won't give references unless he gets a deposit, wants 50% up front, has no contract, doesn't provide his insurance info, claims 40 years experience when he has 7 and I couldn't find an ICC record for him although he claims one. I'm amazed he does any business. Beware one and all!!
  8. If you read Miller's feedback on eBay it's pretty poor. His negative to positive ratio is pretty high. His staff is very slow to respond to e-mail inquiry regarding his lit. When I e-mailed him to complain about the very slow response time he wrote an ignarant and arrogant response to my complaint. I won't buy anything from him.
  9. Hi, Doug. I've ondered about that myself. I bought a '36 Pierce with 29,700 original miles last August and was just about to look into what I can do to modernize the filter to a spin-on. Did you get the adaptor kit from the Michigan region CCCA? Burr Ripley sells spin on conversions for the L 8's but he wants $475 for them which is pretty steep. What year is your Pierce?
  10. I've never been to Charlotte although I've been to just about every other major swap in the country. How is Charlotte for pre-war items? The only swap I've found to consistently have pre-war items is Hershey. Is Charlotte mostly post-war?
