Bob, thanks for the come back. Maybe it isn't a 36 engine and trans. The trans doens't have ears on the outside top corners. Seems like it is bolted to the bell housing from the inside. Tom
I'm trying to disassemble a 36 Chevy 6 cylinder and the transmission is stuck in the clutch plate (I'm assuming that is the situation). The trans won't slide out of the rear of the engine. Has anyone else had this situation and how do I get penetrating fluid down into the affected area to loosen things up. The bottom of the flywheel is exposed but there really isn't any room to work up in there.

How much interest is out there to reproduce the 1914 - 1915 Studebaker dist cap? We have successfully done the 4 cylinder cap and would like see how many owners need a new dist cap. The cap is the same as used on the REO 6 cylinder for the same years.
How much interest is there out there for a run of 6 cylinder dist caps for the 1914 - 15 REO. This cap only fits the REO for those years and the Studebaker for the same years.
Where is the serial number on a model N stamped? I looked at a car the other day and we looked all over the engine and couldn't find any stamped numbers. could this be a replacement block?

Have a friend that has a block for a 1927 Lincoln that needs to be bored and new pistons - the whole 9 yards. He was recently told that on those blocks you could only bore .030 oversize and then the block is no good anymore. Anyone else ever heard of this? Why can't you sleeve the engine and rebore to standard size if it's already .030 oversize?
