  1. The Rollson/Rollston coupe has some Senior parts on it, like a 39 Super 8 hood sides, headlights, front bumper and tail lights so it may well not be a 120. Of course there is the Six rear bumper with the guards upside down, but that may just have been stuck on there.

  2. Get one of the reprint parts books that cover the 35 - 41 cars, there is a hardware section that gives you the detailed specifications of all of the nuts, bolts, washers, etc. I think it is section 50. You will find a lot of specs there - most of the bolts had either no markings on the head or you will see some with small numbers like 30 - 37, or 2 B. These are not possible to find other than used. For a detailed restoration today we take modern bolts and put them in the lathe and cut the hardness markings off, then paint or plate them appropriately as original. It takes time to build up a supply of the original marked bolts to use in high end restorations, but if you look at a car and the bolts are all marked as they came from the hardware store, it doesn't look right. Some washers likewise aren't available and you will have to order something close and then put them in the lathe and make them the right size. If you need photos of correct original bolts, let me know. There are also some bolts with larger or thicker heads than typical modern hardware and you will have to hunt for those from the hardware companies.

  3. I don't think that you will find a number on a 37 senior frame. You can tell an 8 from a 12 chassis by the wheels, brakes, and size of the front suspension components. It is somewhat hard to describe that if you haven't seen both, but I could tell you if you send me a photo. The wheels on a 12 are much wider - perhaps 8 inches or so, and much deeper in the center under the hub cap. The front crossmember of the frame is also heavier. The 12 should also have a front sway bar. packard12s@hotmail.com

  4. Good choice! You will like the 41, they are really nice cars to drive. I have a 41 convertible to go with my 35 too which I really enjoy, plus a couple other 41s besides, so I know 41s fairly well. Feel free to contact me if you need any advice or parts on the 41. Please post a photo!

  5. Try Restoration Supply for the original type. If you want a modern tack strip that looks close to the original, there is one that is a two piece aluminum type which you can bend around the corners. The bottom piece screws on and holds the edges of the material and then the cover snaps over it.

  6. Not all 120CDs were 138 wheel base cars. I owned a nice original low mileage swb sedan for several years. It had a nicer interior with bedford cord seats, senior grade broadcloth on the rest of the interior, wood grained door trim ala Super 8, senior shift knob, shutter grill, senior tail lights, senior carpet, goddess ornament, banjo wheel, lighter, clock, rear lighter and special ashtray and perhaps some other things that I have forgotten.

  7. K stands for Kam Lee company. There are a couple of different types of lining that were used, and it is a cloth, but it is embossed, usually blue. I have several trunks and can send you some photos. I don't know of anyone who reproduces it. packard12s@hotmail.com
