Looking for a wood wheel center cap 64-66 - thanks - rivsrus1@cox.net

Improvment needs to be made on the Administrative side. I dont pretend to have all the answers but the Board needs to work together to lessen the work load. We are looking now for a new Head Judge and an Assistent (new position). I enjoy the Judgeing methods that we have and in fact always work as Judge or Team Captian or whatever at the meets. I remember when the National Meet was in Phoenix and it was right after I had a major operation. I had been out of bed for 2 days and walking with a cane but still flew into Phoenix on Judging Day, Judged the 63-65 Riviera Class and went back to the airport and flew home. Thats how important the Judging is to me however - I think a little too much emphasis is placed on Judging and we need to work toward making the meets more friendly to all. There are a lot of Members who could care less about Judging and it is their Club also! The whole thing is all about FUN - not points.
Cisco ( K-9 )is not on the Dept. . He is a 110 lb LoveBug. We do have dogs on the Dept.however.

I thank all of you for your kind words and hope that you see fit to vote for me again. I do take this job serious and when issues come up to vote on I vote for what I think the members want - not what is good for me or the Board. I dont say to much but when I do I usually get my point across! I am a big backer of all the Divisions and really shy away from tunnel vision. There is a lot of work to be done with our Judgeing system - it is far to complicated to a point where no one wants to be the Head Judge - that must change ! I could go on and on but we all know what needs to be done and with your help - we will get it done. Thanks for listening ! Dick Sweeney

The Tach alone is worth 300 if it works. Perhaps the question is do you want and have time to work on it and do you have a place to put it . A 4dr. with buckets is rare . It is worth at least a grand if you answered yes to the above.

I am talking about a volunteer taking the video , taking orders from Members that would like to attend the meetings but cant for whatever reason and selling them at cost plus shipping. I am not thinking about a Professional Production. I am surprised that there has not been more response and perhaps it is a mute point. Just trying to think of ways to keep the members informed as to what is going on with the Club. Thanks for your response John and your points are well taken. Dick

I am thinking of going to the BCA National Board to suggest that we video tape the Board meetings and make copies available to all members. Before I do that I wanted to get some input from the members. What say you guys& gals ?

No need to eat Crow on your post Lamar, you made some very good points. Your statment "Too much mystique and unfamiliarity with the subject makes folks reluctant to do it. If they really want to entice folks to enter their cars for judging and to judge why not remove some of the mystique and hoopla and make it easier and more comfortable for folks to do.DANG IT!!!" says a lot. I became a Board Member less then two years ago filling in for the late Cecil Don and one of my goals is to make this whole Judging thing easier to understand and to manage! It is a good system but too complicated! I am happy to say that the Board is in agreement for the most part and we are working on it. Thanks for your participation and glad Mike Book took care of the problem. Dick Sweeney

I need a NOS 61 Electra Hub Cap gold plastic piece that is part of the Deluxe cap. A used one would be ok but I have not seen a used one that was still gold. They fade to a silver color. I only need one but would buy more if available. The Group number is 5.858 and the part number is 1347503 . Thanks for checking, Dick at rivsrus1@cox.net PLEASE SEE THE PICTURE OF THE NEEDED PART - OPEN ATTACHMENT.

They are 60-62 vintage I think, off of the big car series door panel. I sold a few of these not to long ago on ebay. Hope this helps.

As a BCA Board Member and being from Calif. I thought I would respond to Johns Emails. I must say that just about everything that needed to be said has been covered by other members! To host a National a local chapter/s need to apply. The chapter/s need to demonstrate that they have the manpower to get the job done and hosting a Regional in the past helps with the award. As mentioned in a prior post LA area members are working together to offer a Bid for 2007 . For whatever reason the West Coast does not draw the numbers that the East Coast does and that fact is based on past results. I am a Charter Member of the Riviera Owners Association and that Club has found the same results. This may be a factor as to why West Coast Chapters hesitate to offer a bid. I do think that the Nationals should move around regardless of the numbers! Shear numbers does not make a successful meet! I would like to see a National held in Sacramento as this location draws from the South, North, and East. Past meets there were great and the folks in the local Chapters are DEDICATED ! The members in the Northwest are VERY dedicated and they just keep driving East and South! Sacramento works well for them ! In any event the Board needs to get the Bids from the Chapters that want to Host - that's the bottom line and I speak for the Board when I say ALL BIDS ARE WELCOME ! The Board understands that the West has not been represented of late and will look very hard at any/all offers to qualified Chapters. I have been on the Board for a little over a year and I can assure you there is no bias as to where the meets are held. John, we hope to see you at the Board of Directors meeting in San Diego in Feb.. Watch the Bugle for further details.

Hi Derek, Perhaps I should have said "many of us know what needs to be done". You to will perhaps have some constructive ideas on how to improve our Club after you have been a member for a while, participated in some of the Judging Programs and things of that sort. One thing for sure, The Club needs young folks like yourself to participate at all levels! Your input is always welcome by the Board and The Bugle is always looking for articles on your prize Buicks and related topics. Thank you for your support and glad to have you as a fellow member! Hope to meet you in Batavia! Dick
