1. Very interesting to know it. I had such a sticker at the windshield of my 1930 Buick which I sold recently. In main things I know what it means but now more exactly. On the back side there where tips how to save gas.
Tom
 2. @Bob~~ Well, I tried to get a room in Hershey for a resonable price. Econo Lodge was booked out and other motels were very expensive ( $ 120 was one of the cheapest ) at the day of the meet.
So I took the Days Inn at Harrisburg because it is just $ 63,- per night. They wrote around 20 min driving time to the Fall Meet.
A closer room for around $ 70,- for two adults per night would be great but didn't find one.
Sal~~ We will see...
Tom
 3. Chuck~~
Perhaps here : http://www.kepichexhaust.com/ ?
Tom
 4. Hi Sal.
At the moment : Yes! I booked already a room in Harrisburg at the Days Inn Airport.
Tom
 5. Hello you all.
Is there an online shop for spare parts for early Chevrolet? Like for a 1927 Model? I can find only dealers for 50s and up Chevys.
Thanks
Tom
 6. Perhaps 1937hd45 means that our Eldorado looks like a submarine? Hope not...
Well, boot (english) means in German "Stiefel" but can also mean "Kofferraum" (trunk) after the dictionary but I know just "Stiefel". Correct is "der Stiefel".
By the way: The movie "Das Boot" (the boat) is a good movie. I have the long version on video tape. 6 hours.
Tom
 7. 1937~~
Here you can see our Cadillac Eldorado with parade boots :

Tom
 8. Hi folks.
Found the solution of the noise problem: It was a wrong, worn out shock link.
Thanks for your help.
Tom
 9. Teddy:
You hit the target. Direct hit!
Tom
 10. Hi you all.
The real problem is that this new law is actually for normal used cars. Like 1996 Chevy, 1990 Ford, 1985 Mercedes and so on. But : There is no border for the age of the car. This means that in this new law all cars are the same. A 1930 Buick is a used car. Like a 1996 Chevy. They make here no difference between used and classic cars. This is crazy because there are special custom laws for cars older than 30 years in Europe and special tax laws in Germany for classic cars older than 20 years.
Good question with a rusty car. At the moment they is no special thing for cars which are for restoring. The dealers can wrote : Rust in the floor, broken glass, not working clock, engine has a bearing problem and so on. As it is now: If you would find out that the wipers are not working and this stands not in the bill of sale the dealer have to repair it. At the moment it is not possible to say : Sold as is.
A lot of people are working against this new law. Otherwise we will have in the future some more unemployed who come from the classic car line of business.
If you would sell a # 2 condition car, it can has defects but they must stand in the bill of sale like “Clock is not working”. This would be ok if the dealer tell all defects the car has.
Tom
[ 11-19-2001: Message edited by: ThomasBorchers ]
 11. Hi you all.
If you would sell a collector car and you have no business (private collector) you have not to give a warranty. Here it is : "Sold as it is". This is not possible for classic car dealers. Even if a dealer sell a car in commission for a car owner. The dealer must give the warranty, not the owner of the car. Crazy, or? But it becomes better: If you have a business (bakery, restaurant or what you want) and you sell your private used car: You have to give a warranty. Actually it means: A butcher who sells his private car is a car dealer (after the law in Europe).
Normal used car dealers have an insurance if a buyer reclaim his car but no insurance wants classic car dealers as customers for this problem.
We have a hot discussion at a German classic car DF. After some days more than 70 postings. This is the reason why I would like to tell you this. I told in the DFers in Germany that if the classic car fans in USA would hear the thing with the warranty that they will all lie on the floor after laughing. Too funny... that it could be true. But it is...
Tom
 12. Hello you all.
I have a nice subject for you. Warranty on classic cars! I don’t know how it is in USA but never heard this. From January 2002 all classic car dealers in Europe have to give a one year warranty on their classic cars. It is no qustion if the car is 20 years or 100 years old! In the first 6 month the dealer has to prove that a fault was not at the time of sale. Otherwise he has to pay. This means: If you buy an old car in Germany at a dealer and the water pump makes troubles during the first 6 month, the dealer has to pay for a new water pump or the repair. Hard times for classic car dealers here.
What do you think about such laws?
Tom
 13. Thanks you all for the answers.
The reason why I asked is that I am looking for an owners manual/shop manual for a 1909 Maxwell Model A. So there could be a chance to get a copy there? It seems so that it is good if I would ask there.
Tom
 14. Hi you all.
I am a member of the AACA since two years and heard a lof of the AACA Library. What do they actually? I know of course what a library is but what kind of use can I have?
I am sorry for this perhaps silly question but at the moment I have no exactly answer for me.
Thanks.
Tom
 15. sintid58: Manufacturers of brake fluid recommend to change brake fluid all 2 or 3 years. It is important to do this. Otherwise you could get problems with rust in wheel and master cylinder.
Tom
 16. The old cars and prices guide by Krause shows in a # 2 condition just $ 4200,- but I don't think that this is the real value. Should be higher. As Mark wrote go to www.hmn.com or www.traderonline.com and see what other owners want for their cars.
Tom
 17. Rick: Very interesting to know it. I made most deals with Mac's and got always a good service.
@1937hd45 This is a German made Ford. Built in Cologne. It is a normal tudor sedan. Door hinges are at the back of the door instead of front like the US made have.
Tom
 18. Yes, forgot to tell you that it is for a 1932 Ford V8 sedan but actually it is a general question.
Howard, would like to see some pics of the interior. Just to see it.
Tom
[ 11-10-2001: Message edited by: ThomasBorchers ]

 20. Hello you all.
Has someone experiences with the upholstery kits of Mac’s or Le Baron Bonney? Sell LBB better ones or is it the same like at Mac’s Autoparts? What would you recommend?
Thanks.
Tom
 21. Yes, thank you, Howard that you are online. I like it to know you but all others of this DF, also. It is just great. I am glad to be a member of this DF. Thanks for your help.
Tom
 22. Hello you all.
There are different types of ATF on the market here. Type Dexron II D and E. Type Dexron III. The type Dexron II E is the cheapest here. Funny: It is not red, it is a clear ATF. Never seen this until today.
What kind of ATF should I use for a 1955 Dynaflow and is it possible to mix the ATF because my Dynoflow leaks a bit and after some time I have to refill it.
Thanks for your help.
Tom
