  1. I bought this model TT flat bed truck when I was 15. Saved up the $100 to buy it from a farmer who had loaned it to a church to hold a sign near the road. I had a friend help me drag it home to our farm five miles aways using an old F-12 Farmall tractor. My late mother, Barbara Osterman, was an artist and one picture shows her painting it near our barn. The man in the picture was Joe Roaches, an eccentric man in our area from whom I bought my second model T. Also shown here as I bought it from Joe and after I built a body for it.
  2. My 1923 model T Ford runabout with the original wood accessory pickup box in place of the factory trunk.
  3. I am a fine art photographer using processes from the 1850s on glass plates. My last body of work Anatomy was based on taking apart my model T for initial inspection and noticing that many parts resembled human body parts.
  4. Our house and garage were built in 1919. The garage has two bays with a 1923 model T Ford in one along with a workbench and parts storage on one side. My table saw, band saw, a spare model T engine and bins full of hardware and parts are on the other side. It’s a tight fit. Below: our tiny garage and Nellie .. our T.
  5. I drive my 1923 model T Ford runabout just about every day all through the year here in Rochester NY unless I’m on a trip away from home. Have always owned a T and only one at a time. Model Ts suck in the snow because the tires are so thin. Back in the T era owners put chains on their tires and they worked really well. But chains are no longer legal in our region and without them driving a T in the snow is like riding a bicycle on ice. And then there is the salt. Along with not driving my car when snow is on the roads I don’t drive it while the snow on the road is melting and wet with salt water. I wait until the roads are bone dry which never takes more than a few days. I took this picture last week. We had our first snow … the actual roads were clear and no salt had been put down and I pulled over to a section in our local park for the picture.
