Started slipping out of third gear and requiring downshift to re-engage. Now, it does not engage into third at all. My transmission specialist is stymied, even though he has actually tried to duplicate/machine new parts. Car in excellent condition, otherwise. Any ideas or experts to contact to fix current transmission or purchase stand alone transmission or a "Nash for parts." I would appreciate it. THX, Bill 858-254-6182

Hello, I do appreciate your follow-up on this matter. Being two years old, I knew it was a long shot, and I have left two messages at the above phone # with no replies. I purchased the same make/model/year car 5 years ago, almost fully restored and in very good running condition. The only two problems have been a thrown rod (not through the oil pan) with an excellent engine rebuild completed, and slippage out of third and having to downshift frequently until it did not engage into third at all. My transmission specialist is stymied, even though he has actually tried to duplicate parts.This is my only antique car purchase and I miss driving it, as it represents my dad's era and the classy style of that time.
