  1. Hello All, this is an old thread, we will see what happens ! Regarding the vacuum tank. Does any know who sells one?
  2. Charles , that’s beautiful, is that original or did you have it redone?
  3. Hello all , In between jobs on this car, Im Polishing my hood emblem, well my wife is , it seems silver not goldish like I’ve seen, is this correct? Thanks all , Everett .
  4. Thank you , I have a better understanding of the system now . And seemingly both sides have shorts. I put a new 10amp fuse in and blew it. I Got two signal clicks off the left ( good side) , then she went. I’ll tone out wiring soon , unplug lamp holders and go from there. All I have is my electrical back Round, which is why I started with that. The Mechanical will come with time. (Both brakes and parking lights share the same bulbs.) thank you for your help, I’ll update you as I trouble shoot. Hopefully it’ll help someone else in the future. Everett
  5. Thank you .bloo , I cleaned the fuse holder and then got clean power to flasher but the fuse blew when I tried to signal, I’m assuming I tryied the right . So I have a short somewhere. originally the left worked but the right did not , I’ll refuse and try the left again with clean contacts and then see if the right side has the short. thank you for replying and confirming that the diagram is correct. Everett
  6. If this also represents the Lincoln, then I have a good start, I figured it was wired this way. can any one confirm ? Thanks all
  7. Hello all , I’m trying to troubleshoot my signal light system . I’ve repaired the signal switch. but I just don’t understand how it’s wired in with the flasher . It worked, then it didn’t and now it still doesn’t . The “boos” wiring diagram and the Lincoln diagram doesn’t really break this system down. ItS prolly simple but I never dealt with this before. Does any one have Experience with troubleshooting this system? Thanks for any help, tips or tricks available . Everett
  8. Hello all , Im working on my radio , and it seems I may need parts or a helping mind . Does any one have Experience in fixing these , or know where I can get replacement parts? I do have a backup radio and the schematic , but I would like some Guidance if at all possible Thank you all, Everett
  9. Hello , What was your outcome with snaking those spark plug wires? Any tips with your Experience? Thanks Everett
  10. I got the Distributor out as well. I think the actual trick is getting it back in and all together lol. Thanks all Everett
  11. I got it !! I jacked the car up and took a stick and banged up Gently on the distributor coil on each corner loosening it up. Seems there’s was some sort of glue holding it or old gasket . It was my last resort. Now for the plug connector “things” lol Thanks , Everett
  12. Hello all, finally jacking the car up. i jacked it up from the rear pumpkin, one wheel was off the ground two inches the other was not off the ground . Placing the jacks Equally away from the pumpkin and lowering car onto them they Equaled out. but with 4 wheels off the ground the Passenger side is equally 1 inch higher than the driver side. Could this indicate a warped frame? The jack stands are at Equal Heights and Equal dimensions away from the pumpkin and front axil set up is the same. Thinking about it Mabey its just bad shock Absorbers or something as simple as that Thanks ! Everett
  13. I tried the scraper And no luck , so I got in the engine compartment for a better angle and pulled up it’s not Budging. I’ll keep trying. But If theres are any more tricks out there I’m all ears or eyes lol Thanks all , Everett
  14. Hello all , I need to remove my coil and Distributor, Simple enough in my mind, until the coil seems stuck and is not Budging, I don’t want to break it ! From what I was told three screws on top to remove the coil . Is there a trick to removing the coil ? Or am I missing something? Thank you , Everett
  15. Hello all! what’s an spc? As for the oil coming out of the exhaust come to think of it I did I did spray blaster small engine tuneup in it and and use a compressor to Disperse the oil to try to clean the valves. It was black like oil and a car smoked like a fiend for 5 minutes, it Eventually stalled. I do have low compression on the side that is running , 65 psi on 11 ( no spark and good compression on passenger side, coil issue I believe ) If oil coming out of the exhaust is not a normal symptom of a problem , then it must be the spray I put in. I had forgotten that when this happened, it kinda freaked me out , hopefully the valves are just bad on 11 Thank you all for your help I really appreciate it Everett
  16. Hey ! I redid the Compression test with the same results on cylinder 11, 65 psi and this time I got oil coming out of the exhaust system. And I found out I have no spark on the passenger side plugs . She is fighting me !!
  17. Hello all , I recently started my V 12 Lincoln and I noticed oil coming out of my holes in my exhaust line And it was smoking like a Fiend. I have started it before and this has not happened , I do know I need a rebuild , well pretty sure . What could cause this ? Thanks Everett
  18. Wow!! I’ll have to read that few times I’m a newbie lol , and I’ll have to buy that gauge. Thank you for your expertise I’ll probably be asking more questions when I’m ready to set up and do that Again thank you Tom !!
  19. Hello all , as you know one problem has many different angles . Ignoring compression for now , The symptoms , black plugs on cylinders 1, 3,5, 7, 9, 11 clean plugs on 2,4,6,8,10,12 note: plugs are new and car has only Idled for an hour or so-ish totally since they were installed. Seeing the carbon build up on only one side , An Idea was brought up that this carburetor has independent adjustments for richness / lean ness for each side of the engine My question is , on the stock Carburetor 06h , is there independent adjustment for each side of the engine ? or could this be a Distributor problem? It could be something else but I gotta start some where . Thanks all !! Everett
  20. Hey Tom , your right, I am taking it slow and gathering info prior to Jumping the gun. The engine has lots of miles, I can only assume bases on lack of info condition, I will now try the “old” trick On that one cylinder, And retest all on a warm engine , and wide open. Thank you for your expertise. Everett
  21. Hello all , this question came up while discussing another and I thought it more Appropriate here I tested my compression on my V 12 1946 Lincolns engine. I did not have the choke opened at all,or the throttle opened , while doing this test and it was cold . I was told by Ray to put a little bit of oil in each socket and crank it over 6-8 times then wait 30 Minutes prior to testing The results clean plugs Black plugs 12 90. 11. 60. “ Wet” 65 10 105 9. 90 8 100. 7. 80 6. 110. 5. 95 4. 95. 3 80 2. 100. 1. 85 the car has only run for an hour total in the last unknow amount of years . I was told that the valves may be gunked up on cylinders 1-11 especially on 11 seeing how the carbon build up was on the plugs ( new plugs , hour of use Idling ) I was told of an old method that may help to un gunk the valves if that’s the problem. I was also told that it could be running rich on that side causing the black plugs . As the carburetor could be feeding each cylinder row independently. It is a stock model 06h Is this true ? Also Could I have a distributor issue causing the excess carbon build up? And Is it normal to have bad compression on one side of the engine if it’s just the rings ect. I hope this is clear if not I can try to explain better thanks all in advance . Everett
  22. Interesting, Carb King Well the carb is a model o6h Lincoln v12 mill try to Research it more I do have books on it. I didn’t see any flow chart but I’ll look it over again . On cylinder 11 it comes in at 60 psi the rest on that line up range from 85 to 95 psi. On Cylinders 2 through 12 it ranges from 90 - 110 . What internally besides valves or rings could be going on? I guess this should be a compression “title” not a spark title. Should I re ask or just keep going ? Really there’s a million questions I just wanna ask Them in the correct areas. thanks!!
  23. Hello Pete , Thank you, that’s probably the issue! I didn’t realize that the two barrels had independent adjustment , but that make total sense and is fantastic news . Now to find the Adjustment screws. Unfortunately I have great compression on the side that’s lean and very poor on the side that’s rich. I’m hoping its carbon build up on the valves. I was told of an old trick Using buster small engine tuneup and a compressor. I’m hoping that works or the damn thing needs a rebuild lol . Every hour with this vehicle I’m learning more and more. Thanks again Pete ! Everett
  24. Hello all , I have a Lincoln v12 and want to test for spark l, as i have some real black spark plugs on one side and clean ones on another , among other issues …… Can I simply test power from the ends of the spark plug wires ( I don’t see why not ) or do I have to test from the Distributor points? If this topic should be in a Different area please let me know . Thank you, Everett
