Kind of stuck in the removal of the transmission in my 1917 D45 Buick with a cone clutch.
Rear u joint disconnected, bolts out of the trans to bell housing and 6 bolts out of a flanged plate that bolts to the clutch that is in front of the throw out bearing. The bell housing just wants to spring back in place when pried on. this spring action is from the clutch compressing. Should the throw out bearing assy be removed, shaft and all or am I just missing something? Car is not rusted, and all components should be free.. Help!! Thanks!
