Well, it's a few days until July. That gives 5 months for someone to beat out the current understatement of the year.

I had a car that "literally stopped traffic" too, at least until I got it to keep running.

The listing for a Packard Six convertible with a custom Belgian body is intriguing.

If I am remembering correctly, these cars suffered from having Lucas "Prince of Darkness" electricals. I'm sure Honda wasn't happy with the result.

A friend had one - the reliability was more Rover than Honda.

everything I see looks 41 Plymouth to me, except the "odge". The windshield is flat glass, can be cut to measure

This is also sometimes done to facilitate installing directionals. I generally prefer that additional lights be done without cutting into the body - e.g. bolted to bumper braces

The other politically incorrect Studebaker was the Dictator of the 1930's. As I've said before to old car fans..."Be careful when you tell people you like Dictators from the 1930's!" 😄
At one time the word "Dictator" wasn't quite as sinister as it is today. Nowadays, it's synonymous with "tyrant", but it meant something different back in the early days of the Roman Republic, and I think that's vibe that Studebaker was trying to capture when they named their car.
At least before the time of Sulla and Julius Caesar, "Dictator" was a person brought in during time of crisis to save the day, then voluntarily surrender their power. Cincinnatus and Fabius were dictators.

"Seat covers were dealer installed the day of purchase and cost $350 in 1950! " $35 maybe, if the salesman was good at making the new owners fearful of soiling that lovely tartan plaid.
I'd certainly want to see what's under the seat covers before considering this car

You can always lower a price.
Yes, but if it's delusional you won't get the chance to hold the conversation.

I offer no opinion on the seller's asking price.
Fords and Chevy pricing is semi-independent of what were competing cars, though. I agree with deac that you can buy a lot more car with other makes.
I think you could get a nice Packard. Consider the price of a same year Plymouth also.

If the old title is in your late father's name, get it transferred to your name. You'll likely need a copy of the death certificate and will. This will greatly assist your ability to sell the truck.

I'd cut some slack on the tailpipe extensions given today's replating costs.

Correct vinyl interior, i believe. I don't think leather was offered in 65

Decent car - repainting the black "valleys" in the side trim is an inexpensive improvement.

Maybe repainting the light orange color black?
or maybe some shade of brown. Needs to be darker than the body color. I prefer the painted grille shell to the plated one.
I'm sure this one campaigned under "you could have any color you wanted", which was true.

I think a very low miles STI is likely to have been used only for competition, not as a daily driver (My daily driver is its little cousin WRX with 150k). As such, a low mileage STI is likely to be modified and the miles few but hard. Maybe try organizations sponsoring rally events. These were not treated like Ferraris.

Time to put the rest of the exterior trim back on. I think it should wear whitewalls - I don't think one ever had blackwalls when new. Pretty car.
