  1. pontiac 53 is correct. I have a 1953 Pontiac Deluxe myself and that definitely had a black rubber floor mat in the front and carpet in the rear. I have had a few early 1950's Oldsmobile 88s with the same set-up. Might have been that way on the lower line models and the higher priced Super 88s, 98s, Supers and Roadmasters had front & rear carpet as standard equipment. There used to be swap meet vendors with piles of aftermarket rubber floor mats available in long boxes (ACE was one aftermarket supplier, there were probably others) sometimes even in various colors but I don't see many anymore. I guess even the replacements have cracked and succumbed to age. Might be very difficult to find an original NOS GM front floormat exactly like the original.

  2. You have a set of 1967-1969 Imperials, second pic top row left (3) and first pic left side center sticking out the farthest (1). Also third pic shows (3) 1955-1956 imperial hubcaps top left, one is missing the center emblem.

  3. I want to enjoy this great event to its fullest and I will be having a LARGE GREEN FIELD DOLLAR PILE SALE SATURDAY AT GCB 26-28. Stop by and check us out on your way to or from the show field area at spaces GCB 26-28 near light pole #93 close to the Car Corral. See you there! The 55er.

  4. I'd proceed with caution. If the owner tells you the needed parts are hard to find, he's probably right. A 1939 Century radio may not be easy to obtain, and then the radio could need repairs to be functional and might have to be restored cosmetically. You will need a good qualified body or restoration shop to repair the front fender and match the paint, $$$$$. Then there's the rear shock issue and a few more problems might become obvious when you start driving the car. Also during the discussions with the owner, if he pegs you as a novice at this, he probably won't knock 1/3 off the price down to 10K just like that. I think once the car is yours and all the problems are fixed you'll be in it closer to 17-19K. You will have a late thirties 4-door sedan that may actually be worth much less. If you really like the car and that's exactly the kind of car you want then the money shouldn't be an issue. I'm not trying to rain on your parade, I just want you to be aware of what you're getting into. I wish you all the best whatever you decide to do. Good Luck!

  5. No Buick sheet metal will fit a 1958 Pontiac Bonneville. The repro 1958 Chevrolet impala floors and trunk pan are very close if not an exact fit. All 1958 Pontiac gas tanks except wagons are the same. No other make and model gas tanks will directly interchange. Hope this helps.

  6. Hi, I assume you're aware of the special long retaining clips Olds used to attach those non-valve stem hole wheelcovers to the rims. I don't know why Olds never put holes in their deluxe wheelcovers for the valve stems but it's not necessary to remove the covers to check tire pressure, you just pull the cover away from the rim to get a tire gauge or inflator in there. I admit it is somewhat inconvenient. If the long retaining clips are intact and the round metal attaching donut on the inside of the cover is solid and not rusted or damaged you should be able to snap the covers away from the rim indefinitely and as often as necessary.

  7. A brass fitting adapter is required. I have two Oldsmobiles with the exact same pump and attachment. The fuel pump casting is fine thread, the steel carb line is coarse thread and is a larger size. Should be obtainable at a good auto parts store like NAPA. The torque spec for the carb to intake manifold nuts is 11-14 ft./lbs.
