  1. Ok, I have a quick question about the heat riser system in the stock intake manifold.  I'm switching to an Edelbrock AVS 2 carb.  It doesn't have the heat riser channel which corresponds to the channel on the intake manifold.  I remember on a thread, that someone who was no longer using the heat riser channel had them blocked off.  Was this done in the manifold, or in the head?

Also, is there an aftermarket replacement intake manifold for the Wildcat engine?

  2. Ok, so it looks like the PS64 switch is the same 1/8th X 27 thread pitch as the block, so I shouldn't need an adapter.  I'm also going to order a PT139 Original GM  3 way oil pressure switch connector pigtail.  Should make installation easier.  Thanks all for your advices.

  3. Ok, so my new Edelbrock Thunder series AVS 2 carb should be here today.  It has an electric choke.  In my search, i see that Ed recommended a PS 64 switch from Standard Motor Products.  Is this the right switch?  Has anyone used this switch with success?  Also, did you have to use an adapter for the Wildcat block.  This is a 401 block.

  4. He has 2 options for the 200R4.  One is the adapter plate system, the other is an actual bellhousing which mounts to the a plate, which bolts to the pump housing.  This is after you cut off the original bell housing.   It requires a specific torque converter from hughes, which costs $540.

I was able to purchasae an already built 200R4 for $450.  I'm just getting all of the pieces together.

  5. No worries, I'm going with Russ' bellhousing.  I'm just waiting for him to get back to me about the mounting plate.  He sold the last one he had a couple of weeks ago.  The guy he gets them from, sold the last three that he was supposed to be saving for Russ.  The customer is sending it back to Russ, so he can send it to his machinist.  I'm hoping he can make more.  Hopefully cheaper too!  🙂

  6. Thanks Steve.  It is actually a great help.  Based on my picture and your info, you can see that this axle assembly is either a 63 or 64.  The dash number would prolly tell me that.  This confirms that the axle is not original to my car, as I have a 65.

Next question:  Is there any difference between the 1st gen axle assemblies?

I have a Gran Sport plate for the glove box door on a 1965 Buick Riviera.  The two studs are broken off, and it could use a cleaning.  If anyone is interested, I'll pay it forward for shipping cost.
