  1. Was it okay looking? Would be awesome if there were a picture
  2. Now I've had some time on my hands lately, looking into things for my Reatta and what not. Since I plan on getting a new paint job, this thought came into mind and won't go away.. What would like a Ferrari Yellow look like on a Reatta? NOW I want to let you all know I am NOT painting my Reatta yellow, just red.. But in my opinion a bright yellow with black pinstripes would make for a very interesting looking Reatta, in my head it doesn't look half bad! Thoughts anyone?
  3. Thank you so much for that! And to answer your question, no I am not going to that Body Shop guy, you are correct, that price is a little exaggerated! I will most likely be buying that black door and having it shipped to my father's work, Advance Auto because that has a towmotor and they said it would be okay to be shipped there. I will take all working components out of my door, along with a new window regulator and window and do the whole installation myself (my father may have to help a little ) Then after the new door and what not is installed I am going to take it to a paint shop in the city, I have a few in mind, and let them just re-paint the whole car red and put new gold pin-striping on. Then I will have to take it back to where I got the car tinted and have that new window tinted.. I hope to see this car as it was seen back in the 80's, like I can't imagine how that new paint is going to shine! Very Excited about that.. But as of now all I can do is plan and wait for a check.
  4. Yeah I called 3 so far, none have any Reattas in stock, so i'm afraid there is a road trip ahead or shipping prices
  5. Oh no sorry to misinform you haha, these pictures were before the incident! Just thought I'd post my favorite pictures, the door is still dented but I'll make sure to take a picture of when it is all fixed up!
  6. I thought I'd add onto this thread because the more Reattas, the better!
  7. Well my body shop guy quoted that the repair for the dented door would cost 3,200 for some ridiculous reason and he sent that to state farm. and they estimated that the current value of my Reatta is about 3,500 dollars. And I don't know how those insurance companies work but they just decided they will give me a check for 3,700 and let me make the decision. So I guess this could maybe be a blessing in disguise?
  8. Thank you for all of your input RDG, I will look into scrap yards near me if that has to become an option, and yes I realize that the door can only be shipped to a facility with a loading dock, that adds to my options and things I will have to think about, I just hope I can get this cleared up before the first of September!
  9. http://www.ebay.com/itm/88-89-90-91-BUICK-REATTA-Left-Front-Door-/162553746495?fits=Make%3ABuick|Model%3AReatta&hash=item25d8f5543f:g:IGMAAOSwyltZQZC-&vxp=mtr That would be the door I would get if East Coast Reatta is too high on prices
  10. Oh, by the way.. No it turned out she didn't have any insurance. So the check is coming from my insurance company as an Uninsured Motorist Claim. SO they are going to go after her for not having insurance because I don't think it makes them too happy to hand me a check for 3,700$ But none of that is my business. The faster this money comes the faster my car can be outta this garage catching dust
  11. I was being serious about my previous comment, that is the route i am most likely going with.. East Coast Reatta. And yes she did back into me, and I was surprised on what my insurance is doing. So hang tight and let me explain. At first the guy said the car is totaled and there is nothing he can do, and I really spoke my mind about that and told him the car runs fine and is worth fixing and he needs to see what he can do.. So after a few times of being put on hold, they came to the conclusion that they are going to give me a check for 3,700$ and let me do as I wish with it. AND in my opinion that is a fine deal! That leaves me plenty to buy a brand new door, a brand new window and then just have the whole car repainted! But yes I believe I am going to do business with East Coast Reatta, or if his quote is more than I am comfortable with, there is a black door for sale on eBay for 360$..
  12. Oh yeah! I think I am gonna use some cold hard cash and contact east coast Reatta.. they must have quite a few whole door assemblies right?
  13. Thanks for all the input guys! My body shop guy said he is gonna look into it and keep me updated, he did say he will most likely have to overcoat the whole area around the door to match paint or something like that. But I will keep you all updated and will ask questions if i get stuck along the way.. Thank you all. I am so glad there is so much support on this site and everyone is so helpful:)
  14. Okay so I was driving in a parking lot today and an older lady backed right into me.. she had no bumper nor any reverse lights and next thing I know theres a large dent and the glass is done for, we traded info and what not.. but my question is if a body shop can't fix these damages where in the world could a driver side door and window for a 89 Reatta? Very Frustrated
  15. Hello! Today I put on new ball joints, CV Axle, and sway bar links. Oh plus a new brake job! Just waiting on the Tie Rods to come in and then I'll have almost the whole front end re-done! Next on the agenda is to rework those alloy 5 spoke rims! Just know that when things get tough and your car needs help, don't give up! Never give up on a classic like this
  16. Hello everyone, If it concerns anybody I decided I am going to take the cheap route.. I'm going to redo the wheels myself after I put this new CV Axle on, Thanks for all the replies!
  17. Hello again AACA! I was wondering if the driver side ABS sensor is an actual necessity or can I get by without one? If I do desperately need one, where could you find one? I looked all over!
  18. Yeah tires get pricy, im with you on that one! But you have Reatta rims to spare or sell?
  19. KDirk. I'm crossing my fingers that isn't for all Reatta rims haha. But I would like to stay with stock. Or rims that are the same style
  20. Hey everyone! So I would like some guidance on my 1989 Reatta rim situation. They are not in terrible shape but there is some scratches and peeling on all four rims. So would it be more cost worthy to either buy brand new refurbished Reatta rims or to take them into a repair shop.. and if I do get new ones would anyone be able to tell me where to look into getting some? Thanks so much!
  21. Well I either clean apartments on some days and other days I dig trenches and landscape, so not very fun work but it pays for car parts! But people question why would some kid like you like some "grandma car" ? I just tell them that they don't fully understand all of things that Buick has actually accomplished and that they shouldn't criticize my cars when most of the time they don't have a car themselves. But I totally agree man, we gotta hold on to our gas guzzling beauties!
  22. I totally agree! See I'm only 18 years old and I feel that I am most likely one of the youngest on this site. I joined a few days back and I have already learned so much!! But in my opinion, Older cars are more fascinating and not a big jelly bean like most modern cars appear to be. And anyways, People call me weird for being so young and loving Buicks, but I don't really care what people think, they all fascinate me!
