  1. Im helping my father put his 38 back together.  We have one peice of rubber that looks to mount untder the radiator shell between the shell and the frame.  I imaging there would be some rubber pads that go under the radiator itself to avoid metal on metal contact with the radiator and the shell it sits in.  But we are having a hard time finding documentation or parts.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Sorry, typo.  Meant to say it can put a CAR out of reach for some of us.  Factory correct restorations are cool, but generally speaking id rather have a car I can drive.  The cost to do factory correct can get out of hand quickly, searching for the right parts aften passing up a multitude of useable and cheaper substitutes.  Again, I love seeing them, but i have nothing against a resto-mod either.  Especially a tastefully done one that still represents the lines of the origional.

  3. Im looking for the face plate panel that takes place of the ash tray on a P2.  I found one on ebay with the entire radio and simply asked if he would sell just the face plate (I have the radio and control head) to me and got a rather rude response.  All that said, I would really like to find the face plate.  If anyone has one or might now of one please let me know.  Pics for reference

  4. I thought as much on the tires, but I didn't see anything else real obvious.   I'm ok with that style of modification.   I see it as making it more drivable so the owner can enjoy them.   Sometimes factory correct can put a cast out of reach for some of us.   My 36 is correct mechanically, but it's got some touches that aren't really correct, maybe period correct.   My 78 corvette was another example.   Modern roller block, electric headlights, etc.   But it all looked period correct.

    That blue V16 is beautiful!

  5. We have been into cars as long as I can remember.  Generally the usual American muscle/sports cars (Im a corvette guy if you couldnt tell) and pre-war cars (We own 36 Plymouth and a 38 Chevrolet as well as a 47 Plymouth).  I dont know a lot about early cadillacs.  I few years back at a car show in Panama City I ran across this Lasalle and V16 and was absolutley smitten with them!  The two were near mirror images of each other and just beautiful cars.  I believe them to be 31's  Im hoping you all can confirm that and tell me a little bit about them.  Pics to follow soon.

  6. I believe he does Jim.  Im talking to him right now an re-creating some for my P2 and he mentioned the Dodge molds.  Price is reasonable for a few knobs, but it gets pricey if you need an entire set.  I need to window knobs, a heater knob abd a choke knob if I can figure the darn thing out.  Might have him make a matching shifter as well.  My origional is gone and they were pretty bland anyway.

  7. Additional items:

Oil px guage; condition unknown. $30

    Horn contact parts.  $25

    Steering sector gear; $100

    window regulators; $50/ea

Steering wheel; This one is ROUGH!  $25.

All prices are plus shipping, I will make every effort to ship as cheap as possible.  All parts are as is and mostly unknown condition.  Please ask questions, Im happy to take more pictures for you.  Some things may take a few days to get back as I travel a lot.  Pics coming.

does the temp gauge work ?

It does not appear to be functioning.   At least not in a bit water test, no idea if that is an adequate test, but it's all I've got.

There is a guy that repairs these of yours needs it.   If I can find his info I'll pass it along

  9. Anyone know how this is attached to the cable?  I can't see any set screws and the knob rotates freely on the cable.   I tight maybe it was cast into the cable, but that can't be since it spins.   It does not, however; screw off (not threaded).

I'd like to separate the knob from the cable but can't figure it out.

  10. Anyone have need of these?  Partial instrument cluster,  glass in good condition and the faces are good, might need a cleaning.   The bezel is fair with a few dings.  All untested.   $75 sends reasonable.

Tail light stanchion, I dint rescan what it was from our where I got it (possibly on here??)  Part number shown for reference.   $50???

Not trying to make a fortune, just cleaning out the spare parts bin.

  11. Honestly, I think I'm going to run it dry.   Or maybe a light misting with a gun oil or assembly oil instead of 50wt.  I'm restoring mine this week if Dad hasn't done it already by the time I get back there.

Will a horse blanket do ?  I think horse blankets are made of camels hair.

Maybe.   I've seen motorobe, and I've seen sine listed as carriage robes.   But really a horse blanket I guess (don't know a lot about horses).

There are motorobes on ebay between $50-100.
