BTT for 2019 Fall Hershey
I will not send Western Union money grams or Bitcoin to someone in Arizona, Nevada, India or BF Egypt for parts that I have not visually inspected from someone I have not previously dealt with.

Mercury Breezeway, I remember a friend of my parents had one back in the day.

Well Paulie, somebody (me?) should give you a medal to have read that thread 3 times!

I know Paulie, I turned him on to this thread. The next time I see him I will give him that medal (Quarter dollar) for you. I’m looking forward to your v16 project.

I’m glad you were able to find a chassis with engine installed. Due o the complexity of all the linkage for the brakes it would have been almost impossible to photograph and measure with a body installed. Vacuum assist brakes and vacuum assist clutch, who would have thought in 1932, not to mention freewheeling pedal. My Cadillac is my first and I was advised to run from this project and run fast. I have never been one to heed to good advice.

The car was originally all black. I have had my fill of black cars so I will be deviating from original on the paint. I will be going with a dark gray on the fenders and upper (same gray as chassis) and a lighter gray on the lower body with red wheels. The upholstery will be a big expense since it is something I cant do properly.

Alex, why don't you show your project, here or on the Cadillac LaSalle forum?
After about 5 years I’m in the middle of my restoration. The engine is rebuilt and running. I just installed the exhaust from Waldron and I’m impressed at how well it fit. Now I am now working on the body preparing it for paint. I will do what I can to supply you with the pictures and dimensions you may need for your 1:12 scale.

Hello Roger
I have been following your 1:12 scale build of the Continental for over 5 years. I must say it has been more impressive than any full scale build that I have followed. I am in the process of restoring a 1932 V12. There are some things that the V16 may share with the V12. I also have service manuals for 1932/33 that I can scan images. I would be glad to help out in any way I can.

We have a Detroit Lubricator downdraft carburetor for v12 Cadillac. Model 51, type r-13-2. Make offer.
Can you post some pictures of this "Detroit Lubricator model 51, type r-13-2 downdraft" ?

Thanks for sharing that video. I have been attending that show for 10 years and this is the first year I had to miss due to a family event. It made me feel like I was there. Thanks

The fenders with the double bead look like 1932 Cadillac.

Try this company, https://www.vbeltsupply.com/. I found the correct size belt (no cogs) for my 32 cadillac at a fraction of the cost that a vender was asking.

I once had a 1929 Nash model 440 with the twin ignition 6. It was a very smooth running engine. At idle you can balance a nickel on the valve cover without it falling. I remember the wood in the roof was difficult to repair and it had some of the lowest grade pot metal I had ever seen, other than that it was a fine automobile.

Also note the 1932 Cadillac gauge cluster. Did Auburn have deep foot wells? Looks like an awkward driving pasition.

It has been about 10 years since I had my F350 with the 7.3. If I recall correctly there is a nylon bushing on the clutch pedal linkage under the dash that wears out. This could prevent the clutch from engaging completely and also activating the start switch. I would buy a couple at a time for their life span was about 10000 miles. You may want to check this out before going to extremes.

WTB the free wheeling pedal that mounts under the toe board on the 1932 Cadillac. I have the control valve and the power cylinder, I just need the pedal assembly.

No brass pipe. They look like some sort of stand-off with 1/2-13 thread. They came with some odd bumper parts but it is possible some plumbing parts were thrown in the mix.

Safety first
You are right, but I was indeed inside the car! (at least the fingers…) To make a creeper would not be a problem, after the jack! Have a look at the picture: here, I went under the car to measure details of the frame and floor; I was not very confident about the situation!
To zipdang: indeed the car could not move as boxes and floor are horizontal; the wheels are just at a different altitude. The creeper is there to avoid a movement when I'm pushing on the floor!

Fyreline, such tiny hands you have. Does take both to hold a spoon?
