Ed......I think the blinker fluid might be low on my Riviera......Can you tell me where

the blinker fluid reservoir is located?

  2. Are you sure that you replaced the correct flasher? Your car has two flashers.....one for the hazard flashers and one for the turn signals. Usually the hazard flasher is in plain sight in the fuse box, and the turn signal flasher is buried in the dash where it is hard to find.

  3. You have a bad flasher.....if it was the bulb the malfunctioning side would blink extra fast

on the instrument cluster. It is not uncommon for the flasher to work on one side of the car and not the other.

  4. I just tried the Bing search engine and got the same result when typing in www.rivowners.org.....

I got the home page without the photo gallery box, but with a Bing search I don't get a result

    further down that says www.rivowners.org.Gallery.

  5. Ditto......when I enter www.rivowners.org in the search bar I get the home page that does

not have the photo gallery box, but when I enter www.rivowners.org in the search bar if I scan further down the results on the page there is an entry that says www.rivowners.org.Gallery and

when I click on that the photo gallery page comes up, so it looks like I can get to the photo gallery that way, but I have yet to ever see a home page with the photo gallery box on it. I'm using Windows 10 and the Google search engine.

  6. I clicked on Jason's link and looked at the pictures, but I would still like to know how to

bring up the ROA  home page that has the photo galleries box.  Also, I still

don't have the personal message icon at the top of the screen on this site....

It vanished about 3 months ago after being there for years and I haven't seen it since.

  7. I eyeballed Gene's and Turbinator's horn bars at the Lexington meet. To my eye they are equally nice looking and well made. Turbinator....when I installed my horn bar before grinding down the base circle, when I tightened the 3 screws down on the horn contact the bar would lock down

and not move. After grinding the base circle down to the same thickness as the original pot metal everything was fine. Both your horn bar and Gene's horn bar are the same thickness and they are much thicker in that area than the original GM piece. If there is a way to make these

bars work without grinding down the base circle ,I was not able to figure out how to do it. The extra thickness throws off the geometry of the horn contact  parts in my experience.

  8. Just to give you a heads up.......Gene has the horn bars as does the Turbinator. Best Offer Counts sells the horn contact parts kit on ebay. Be aware that all of the repro horn bars out there

have metal that is too thick on the bottom of the center round section of the bar. In order for

the horn bar to be able to move and honk the horn, you will need to grind away the bottom

of the center section of the repro horn bar  until it is the same thin thickness of the original piece.

  9. People who claim there is something wrong with DOT 5 don't know what they are talking

about.......I have 47 years of proof that it works, and the brakes on my cars that use it will stop on a dime and give you nine cents change. I used it in my customer's classic cars for 45 years with never one complaint or one hydraulic failure. It is worth every penny that it costs and then some.....as I said it is an absolute no-brainer.

  10. You need to flush out all the old brake fluid and install silicone DOT 5 fluid. If you do that,

your brake hydraulics will last longer than your human life span. I run DOT 5 in all my older cars

that don't have antilock brakes, and I have old cars with the same wheel cylinders, calipers, and master cylinder for decades and decades......plus if you do have to work on the brake system, DOT 5 won't damage your paint if you spill it on the car......it's a no-brainer. As an example of what I'm talking about......my 69 GTO which has had DOT 5 in the brakes for 47 years still has it's original 55 year old front calipers and the master cylinder and wheel cylinders are 47 years old........never any leaks or problems with the hydraulics.  This is why I have no interest in converting to a dual  system on my 65 Riviera, as the master cylinder isn't going to go bad with DOT 5 in it during my lifespan.

  11. One of the favorite aspects of my 65 Riviera is that I have all the original paperwork, protectoplate, window sticker, and the names of all previous owners, and the second owner,

who owned the car for 47 years  and was friends with the original owner told me the complete

history of the car over the phone........It is really cool to know the complete history of a 60 year

    old automobile.

  12.               I don't think I mentioned this, put the tubes on a modern R134 condenser used on cars and trucks since about 1999 are so tiny that you can't even shove a needle into the holes of the tubes. they are literally microscopic. For this reason, when your R134 compressor goes bad, you have to change out the condenser, orifice tube, and flush out all the lines because the condenser tubes are so tiny they cannot be flushed out to remove trash from the compressor failure like on an R12 condenser.

    Seafoam, A capital idea!

I think I'll put one aside so we can make a person very happy. Matter of fact I have a highly qualified prospect as we correspond.

    I'm at 443-386-7356 or bobburnopp@icloud.com

    Turbinator

    It's a done deal......see you in Lexington.

  14. Mr Turbinator, I have a nice crack free steering wheel and a very nice pit free hub that goes

between the back of the wheel and the steering column. Why don't I bring those and we can sell the complete setup to someone in Lexington? I can't recall if I have the horn contact setup but those are available as a reproduction from "Best Offer Counts" on ebay.
