  1. Hello everybody! Just a few weeks ago, I've registered in this amazing site and extracted several info about my project. Well finally last thrusday I've bought a 1947 Buick convertible, I can't wait to start the project! I live in Buenos Aires and I found the car in Mendoza Province this city is 650 milles away from home. As soon as the previous owner finish the paperwork and I get a place to work on the project, I bring the car and begin the restoration. I intoduce you my convertible, she's called Mimi. I'll have you updated about the differents works that I carry out. I hope you'll know to excuse my spelling and syntax. I don't use to write in english. In my job I just read it. Anyway, I hope you enjoy, and why not laugh of my posts.
  2. Hi Hudson1948! Sorry if my advise is too basic, but take a look to the oil viscosity. May be, you need to try with other one with a bigger "SAE" number. Example: 15W50 has more viscosity than 5W30. Find this data in the oil container and try with other with more viscosity. The viscosity is basically how "liquid" is a fluid (the water is less viscous than the honey). This is a parameter that varies with the temperature: the more temperature is, the less viscosity you have, and with a low viscosity the pressure drops. It could explain your "trouble": once the oil temperature rises, your oil pressure goes down. I hope these words may be useful to you.
  3. Hi sweetpotato! I´m new here in the site, and I've read this thread about the bolts... you can try releasing the engine mounts from the chassis and rising the enginejust a few inches. You con do that with a jack and piece of wood, lifting the engine from the cranshaft pulley. You can gain some room for a tool or your hand... I hope this words will be useful for you. Nahuel from Argentina.

Finally that car was the one that took my wife and me form the church when we get married. Now I'm about to own a 1947 Buick convertible for restoration.
