I just wondered if it was a special California-Only Emissions Required unit,

but agree - never saw another one like that-

surely none of my 5 Corvairs (4 prior - 1 currently)

Marty/Fossil:  The extra air cleaner is actually an Oil Bath air cleaner which was a factory and/or dealer installed OPTION available on most Corvair vehicles (including FCs/Vans/Rampsides) for vehicles to be used in dusty environments.  Corvair oil bath air cleaners were available in various configurations depending on body style.  I live 1/2 mile off the Hard Ball Road (as my neighbor calls it!) on a gravel road that when it is dry for a few days/weeks becomes quite dusty!   I'll probably install one of these on my Corvairs just to help protect the engine.  Greg

  3. Hi, George!  I see you are a Harley man too!  I'm about to jump on my 2005 FLSTNI for my 12 mile ride home from work (DC to Alexandria).  I ride year-round, except heavy rains and of course - snow (and until the roads are dry after a snow!).  25 degrees is about my cutoff, but we have very few of those days here.  The key, heated gloves!  Everything else is layers.  Not a "biker" by any stretch of the imagination, just the easiest way for me to commute.  When people in the building see me with all my gear on they always ask if I go out on the weekends.  Nope!  After commuting back and forth four days a week, that's enough seat time for me.  Be safe!  Greg

1966 lincoln barn find. Its been sitting since 2006. 98,000 original miles, 462 engine. Runs and drives around the yard. 22 inch wheels, Flowmasters. This is how I found it. I installed new carb, plugs and wires. I disconnected the fuel lines at engine, i didn’t want to run the old fuel through it. Its getting fuel through a gallon jug so you can hear it run. Needs to be restored. Needs alot of work. $5000.00 obo call Steve
