  1. I wish to suggest you visit the MTFCA FORUM and search MAGNETO. No need to ask as the magneto and testing for problems and solutions has been discussed there to death. First point is using the correct meter in conjunction with a light bulb. There is only one way to test properly for an accurate reading. Good Luck

  2. Is this for a Graham car or truck ? I have a 1926 Paige sedan I am considering removing the pan to clean it as I doubt it has ever been removed. This engine has a float actuated rod on the left side, no dipstick. If you are having trouble installing the pan I had better ask WHY. Thanks..........

  3. Yes, it looks like it is going bad. My generator was much worse yet was charging well. I'm trying to make a new part myself. Not so good so far. I have also ordered a 6 volt alternator, but do not know if it will fit quite right. Die cast parts are such a curse !

  4. Hello Jeff, I have a 1926 Paige 6-72 I purchased last July. It has the original engine installed WITH a Paige data plate on the engine. I had read that Continental supplied Paige with engines, but there is no plate to indicate that it is a Continental engine. I am curious too as to who made the engine. If it has the Remy 917A generator watch out for disintegration of the rear brush frame. I am trying to sort out a replacement or repair to the unit I have. Good luck...........

  5. That hub isn't like a Ford T at all. This has a Hyatt roller bearing in the hub. The split part is the outer race. You have the parts illustration for reference. You just have to determine how to separate the inner and outer hub castings. I like your attitude........caution. Someone out here has done this before. Just keep asking.

  6. The nearest wiring diagram I have been able to find is 1920 Overland. It has a battery and generator. Does your car have a battery and generator ? I don't think your car would use "magneto" lamps as an early Ford Model T would use. Those are 18 to 24 volts. Finding those early lamps is very hard to do. Even the replacement lamps are most troublesome. I suspect you need single filament single contact lamps of 6 to 8 volts. I have a 1926 Paige that uses an 1129 lamp 6 volts 21 candle power.

  7. I would like to know what the late '20s Paige used for a headliner material. I found mohair listed in the sales books I looked at in libraries. Were the sidewalls above the window sills and headliner mohair also ? My interior was redone in polyester ! All same. Thank you.
