  3. I'M LOOKING FOR ONE OR BOTH OF A PAIR OF 1938 INDIAN FOUR MOTORCYCLES MY FAMILY OWNED FROM THE 70'S THRU EARLY 80'S. THE BIKE ON THE LEFT-BURGANDY-WITH ME ON IT AS A YOUNG MAN WAS A VA. BIKE THAT PREVIOUSLY BELONGED TO AN AMA REFEREE WHO WORKED DISTRICT 7 IN VA. IT HAD BEEN FITTED WITH AN AFTERMARKET VARD FRONT END AND REMOTE OIL FILTER. IT ALSO HAD A BRASS PLAQUE ON IT WHEN IT WAS TIMED AT 107 MILES AN HOUR. THE BIKE ON THE RIGHT-TAN-CAME OUT OF SW VA. IT WAS AN AACA SENIOR WINNER BACK IN THE 70'S. IT STILL HAD THE AACA BADGE ON IT. VERY UNUSUAL PAINT SCHEME AND A VERY NICE RESTORATION-VERY MUCH STOCK. IT ACTUALLY SAT IN OUR LIVING ROOM! MY DAD SOLD THE BIKES WHILE I WAS IN COLLEGE AND I/M PRETTY SURE THE BURGANDY BIKE ENDED UP SOMEWHERE IN PA. I'M ALSO PRETTY SURE THE TAN BIKE WENT TO UPSTATE NY-MAYBE TO A DEALER. I BELIEVE THE GENTLEMAN THAT BOUGHT THE TAN BIKE ALSO OWNED A 40 FORD CONVERTIBLE WHICH MY DAD ALSO HAD AND I REMEMBER THEM TALKING 40 FORDS. ALMOST 35 YEARS HAS PASSED AND NOW I'M ALMOST AS OLD AS MY DAD WAS WHEN THE PICTURE WAS TAKEN YEARS AGO. I'D SURE LIKE TO FULLFILL A BUCKET LIST WISH AND OWN ONE OF THEM AGAIN. ANY HELP LOCATING THE BIKES-EVEN IF IT DOESN'T LEAD TO THE PURCHASE OF ONE OF THEM IS APPRECIATED. I KNOW IT'S A LONGSHOT. I'VE BEEN TOLD THE BURGANDY BIKE HAS BEEN SEEN AT SHOWS SOMEWHERE IN PA. IT'S THE OLD NEEDLE IN THE HAYSTACK SCENARIO. THANKS IN ADVANCE. EMAIL ME OR REACH ME AT 703-966-8422

  6. Thanks to fellow member who is going to have a look at several cars up close for me at preview on the 30th. any chance anyone is going to Vanderbrinks preview on the 23 in Maple Plain MN? Thanks again
  7. Their postings remind me of a Craigslist Ad and not an "National" auction company.
  8. Any AACA members going to the Vanderbrink auction previews in Maple Plain, MN? On the May 23 and/or the May 30-31 preview in Stillwater, MN. I'm on the east coast and interested in bidding on several cars. Descriptions provided online are so vague and questions forwarded to the auction co. for more info go unanswered. I'd be glad to reimburse a knowledgeable AACA member going to the previews with a food/drink/restaurant gift card/gift certificate, etc., if they could inspect a couple of cars while they were on site. It's amazing to me how the descriptions can be so vague when they depend on out-of-state bidders with the online auction procedures. Poor pictures and never a mention of undercarriage, floors, rockers, etc. I've done this several times for club members who wanted a set of ‘eyes' on something that was in my backyard. Thanks in advance. Bought a car years ago from a "reputable" online auction co. in illinois. They had one of their 'expert staff' describe the car in a ‘walkaround session’ while I was on the phone. I bought the car and shipped it east. It proved be junk. When it arrived in VA I discovered the floors were full of patches and pop rivets and the door post pillars were so rotted you had to pick up the door and force it to close. When I called them back the guy said, “What did you expect me to do, get on my knees and look underneath the car?" They never would make it right. Bad experience. Thanks in advance.
  9. Project, racecar platform, yard art or chicken coop. Motor is complete down to the bolt on oil filter accessory. Lots of bits still there but lots missing. Motor spins over with wrench. No steering box or column or grille. Missing transmission. 3 fenders are probably salvageable. Car is 25 miles West of D.C. $500.00 with a open Virginia title. Save it from the scrap man. Phone calls preferred 703-966-8422 No Texts. Bring trailer with a winch.
  10. I have a 48 Chevy Coupe project. It Had no glass in it. I have painted the body shell and installed new front window rubbers. The window rubber sections were vulcanized with a common rubber center strip. The center strip lines up well with the metal divider in the body shell. There are 2 ¼ inch holes in the divider strip which I believe is where the center interior strip with my mirror mounts. Then there are 3 about 1/8 holes also on the metal divider whose purpose I cannot determine. Cannot find a breakdown in parts book or assembly manual. I have enclosed photos, I’ve ordered and received the reproduction reveal moldings from a supplier and am trying to determine how it attaches to the body divider strip. I looked at an old parts car of a friends and see what looks like the remains of clips which may have been attached to the 1/8 in holes I mentioned earlier. I can’ seem to find any supplier that lists them for 46-48. I can find them for ’49. Can anyone tell me how or where the stainless divider gets its grip to hold on this set up? Thanks in advance
  11. I'm selling a 1941 Cadillac flathead V-8 and Transmission Unit combination. I bought these as a unit from a shop turning a 41 Cadillac Limo. into a wedding reception/ rental fleet unit almost 25 years ago . The units have GM rebuilders tag attached from years ago. The shop Mgr. told me the car drove into the shop and ran well. The agency wanted something with a conventional driveline in it for easy rental and installed a small block Chevy motor with a Turbo 350. The units were out of the car when I bought them. Mgr. allowed me to pull head and inspect cylinders. Clean bores with hone marks still visible. I kept them high and dry for 25 years as an "insurance policy" for my 41 Cadillac which I recently sold. Units are located outside of D.C in Northern Va. $1750.00 or near offer for the pair. Prefer direct in person pickup but I could place on pallets for a fee and deliver to a freight terminal. Call 703-966-8422 for more. I don't do texts. Thanks
